Born in San Francisco, Francis Jue now lives in New York City. He is known for his work on Broadway, Off Broadway and in regional theaters across the country, and has also had recurring roles on television. Among his acting awards are the Obie and Lucille Lortel Awards (plus Drama Desk and Drama League nominations) for his roles in David Henry Hwang's Yellow Face, plus a Philly Award, a Zoni Award, a Drama-Logue Award and numerous Bay Area Critics Circle Awards.

Jue first appeared in New York in 1984 in a production of Steven Sondheim's Pacific Overtures as the Boy in the Tree and the Dutch Admiral. Later, he appeared in the show's Broadway revival as the Madam (2004-05). He also appeared on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie, creating the role of Bun Foo (2002-04), and in M. Butterfly, understudying the title role in the original Broadway production (and starring in the national tour).

Jue's Off Broadway work includes original new works, such as Coraline (MCC Theater), No Foreigners Beyond This Point (Ma-Yi Theater), and Yellow Face and A Language of Their Own (Public Theater). He has also appeared in acclaimed productions of Falsettoland, Hamlet, A Winter's Tale, King Lear, and Timon of Athens, among others.

Jue has starred in numerous regional productions, including In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Miss Saigon, Peter Pan, The King & I, Into the Woods, Amadeus, Red, A Question of Mercy, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Floyd Collins, As Bees in Honey Drown, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Cabaret.

On television, Jue has appeared in recurring roles on The Good Wife (Dr. Tom Li) and Law & Order: SVU (Dr. Fong), as well as the final season of Law & Order (Dr. Halberton).

His film debut will be the upcoming Joyful Noise, written and directed by Todd Graff and starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton.
