Image
Exclusive: Steve Howey has been tapped for a major recurring role on Amazon MGM Studios’ college-set romantic drama Off Campus, based on the best-selling book series by Elle Kennedy.

There are 5 books in the series, which depicts the elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.

In the vein of Bridgerton, each of the first four novels tells the love story of a hockey player, with the fifth being a novella collection of all four couples. Season 1 of the TV series, based on the first book, The Deal, follows the unlikely romance between Hannah Wells (Ella Bright), a wry, hockey-hating music major, and Briar University’s playboy star center Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli).

‘Happy’s Place’: Which ‘Reba’ Favorite Should Guest Star Next? (Poll)
Image
Happy’s Place Season 2 may not return to NBC until later this year, but filming for the upcoming chapter of Reba McEntire‘s comedy is already underway. As teased in a recent Instagram post, McEntire is back on set with the ensemble behind this series, including Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. While the team is fast at work prepping episodes for Season 2, though, we can’t help but wonder which Reba favorites could turn up as guest stars. Created by Kevin Abbott, Happy’s Place is no stranger to Reba crossover as two key stars play series regulars with McEntire and Peterman, and Season 1 boasted appearances from vets Steve Howey and Christopher Rich, but we can’t help but keep our fingers crossed for more in Season 2. Abbott previously served as an executive producer and writer on Reba, which makes him eager to welcome back familiar faces.

What Is The Cast Of Malcolm In The Middle Up To Now?
Image
We're not the boss of you now, but we still strongly recommend revisiting the classic sitcom "Malcolm in the Middle." Created in 2000 by "Little House on the Prairie" alum Linwood Boomer, the series ran for seven seasons and over 150 episodes before it ended in 2006. Though it may seem somewhat predictable now, it was a fairly subversive program at the time with regard to how chaotic and internally hostile the central Wilkerson family could be.

The actors who portrayed the Wilkersons -- and the neighbors, classmates, relatives, and co-workers they terrorize -- were an amusing mix of established sitcom stalwarts and up-and-coming child actors, a dynamic encapsulated by Malcolm actor Frankie Muniz and his on-screen father Bryan Cranston. With nearly a decade of television between us and the series finale and a reunion miniseries reportedly on the way, we're more curious than ever what the cast of "Malcolm in the Middle" is up to now,...

All 7 Channing Tatum Sports Movies, Ranked Worst To Best
Image
Known for his impressive physicality, coordination, and general fitness, Channing Tatum has often gravitated towards roles that showcase these abilities. He was able to put his martial arts and combat skills to use as a superhero, soldier, and undercover detective. The actor's incredible talent for dancing was out in full force in the Magic Mike franchise and the first two Step Up movies, as well as any movie where he's allowed to bust a move.

Channing Tatum also happens to have great comedic timing and has broken hearts with his dramatic roles, and it's this mix of attributes that lends itself very well to sports-focused films. With themes of underdogs overcoming adversity, a dangerous competitive edge, and a lot of inspirational material, these projects were all very interesting additions to his CV. Roles that allow him to flex both his literal and acting muscles are the ones he seems to be the most comfortable in,...

Director DeMane Davis Shares the Creative Process Behind Brilliant Minds, Including Ericka’s Emotional Breakdown
Image
Brilliant Minds Season 1 packed some emotional gut punches, including Ericka’s Ptsd from watching Celia die from the elevator collapsing. It was an incredibly emotional hour of TV.

TV Fanatic has a special treat for you. We interviewed director and EP DeMane Davis, who also directs NBC’s Found. I’ve wanted to interview her for a long time since she’s a delight to chat with on social media, and she was fascinating to talk to.

Davis shared how the directors were involved with Brilliant Minds’ creative process, including the advice she gave Ashleigh Lathorp’s Ericka about how to appear traumatized.

(Rafy/NBC)

Since Davis is active on social media, she shared if she’s ever used ideas from there in an episode.

DeMane Davis talks the need for Brilliant Minds on TV today
Image
Some TV shows are needed more than others. In today’s world, a medical drama like Brilliant Minds is 100% needed.

This is a series that offers more than just entertainment. It is a look at people and life. It brings us topics of empathy, seeing patients as people, and going above and beyond to get answers. DeMane Davis is both a director and EP on the series, and we talked with her about why this show right now.

Davis directed episode 3, “The Lost Biker,” and the finale “The Man Who Can’t See Faces.” We talked about the directorial decisions made in the third episode, which allowed us a chance to see what a patient could be experiencing, adding more empathy to the show.

Why Brilliant Minds as the next project?

"Never Say Never": Steve Howey Addresses a Possible ‘Shameless' Reunion on 'Found'
Image
Despite being two different characters, Kevin Ball (Steve Howey) and Veronica Fisher (Shanola Hampton) existed as a unit on the Showtime hit show Shameless. It was always Kev and V, and for fans of the show, it must have taken a while before they stopped expecting a V for every Kev they heard after the show ended. It's been nearly four years since the series ended, and its stars moved on to other projects. Howey starred in the television adaptation of True Lies, which lasted for a single season, while Hampton plays Gabi Mosley in the NBC hit series Found. Howey recently appeared on Happy's Place, reuniting him with his Reba costars Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman. TV Insider talked to the actor about possibly moving a door down for a guest star role on Found, which airs on the same network. Howey previewed the biggest challenge with this proposition,...

Steve Howey on Why a ‘Shameless’ Reunion ‘Would Be Weird’ on ‘Found’
Image
Shameless bid viewers adieu in 2021, so it would only seem fitting that the stars reunite onscreen from time to time, but don’t expect to see Steve Howey guest-starring on Found anytime soon. The NBC hit led by Howey’s former onscreen wife, Shanola Hampton, would seem like the perfect platform for a Kev and V reunion, but according to Howey, it “would be weird.” “Would I ever do a guest spot on that show? I don’t know. And here’s why,” Howey begins. “The Kev and Veronica relationship, us two together for over a decade, for eleven seasons, it’s pretty iconic. We’ve been talked about as one of the best couples in television history. There’s a lot of weight on that.” © Showtime / Courtesy Everett Collection Considering their roles in Shameless, Howey seems to have doubts about seeing himself and Hampton tackling a different dynamic onscreen for viewers and fans.

‘Happy’s Place’: Steve Howey on Reuniting With ‘Reba’ Family for the Holiday Episode
Image
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Happy’s Place Season 1, Episode 7, “Ho-Ho-Howey.”] Happy’s Place made way for a very special guest star in the latest episode, appropriately titled, “Ho-Ho-Howey,” which saw Steve Howey reunite with his Reba costars as Danny, a business owner in search of a holiday party venue. An acquaintance of Gabby’s (Melissa Peterman) from the dog park (despite her not having a pup), Danny drops in to check out the space, which Bobbie (Reba McEntire) is desperate to rent out after a last-minute dropout that was going to cover the staff’s health insurance fees. The only catch? Gabby lied to Danny about who she was, claiming she was Bobby, which leads to a rather interesting game of pretend as the staff plays different roles in the ruse. Ultimately, Danny knows they’re lying but still wants to move forward with hosting his company’s party there. As fans of Reba know,...
