A few years before appearing on the WB's Reba (2001), Mike worked as a roadie at one of her concerts in Texas.

Mike is a former slow-pitch softball player. Most recently, he played for "Da Bears" in Arlington, TX, compiling a lifetime .429 batting average.

He enjoys working on movies, but prefers television and has said that is what he wants to focus on.

Attended Martin High School in Arlington, Texas.

"It was my first big audition, I walked in there and said to a friend, 'Whoever gets this job is one lucky guy'. I did not expect it at all. I love comic books and I used to watch _"The Incredible Hulk" (1980)_ with Lou Ferrigno as a kid. So, when I got it, I was thrilled. I still can't believe it, to tell you the truth. It all seems like a dream" - On auditioning for Hulk (2003).

"When I auditioned for the part, the show hadn't even aired yet. So, they sent over a pilot, and I sat and watched it with my girlfriend. It was so real, so true to life. By the end of the show, we were both in tears" - On Everwood (2002).
