Jon Macks is a comedy writer and award show writer who continues his work as a political consultant and speech writer for Democratic candidates for United States Senate, Governor and President. Among his political clients are U.S.Senators Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren, John Kerry, Ray Mabus, and the Virginia Democratic Party. Every four years since 1996, he has been part of the debate prep team for the Democratic nominee for President. In 2020 he advised and helped run debate prep in the presidential primary for Amy Klobuchar; in the general election he was one of the head writers for the 2020 Democratic Convention, did debate prep for Joe Biden and was the lead writer for the Celebrating America Inauguration Special.
A graduate of Villanova University and Villanova Law School, he has been a writer or head writer on 26 Academy Awards, which is the all time record; and writes speeches and special material projects for a wide range of clients including Helen Mirren, Michael Douglas, Hugh Jackman, Chris Rock, Billy Crystal. Martin Short, Steve Martin, Anthony Anderson, Queen Latifah, Terry Bradshaw and Terry Fator.
He has written 5 books, is a strategic adviser for a number of CEOs and major corporations, and is a frequent public speaker and television, podcast and radio contributor on the topics of politics and comedy.
