As if to further cement the comical irony of Coyote vs. Acme being shelved, Warner Bros. Animation is looking to begin pre-production on a new iteration of Tom and Jerry. In an exclusive report from Deadline, Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, and Michael Govier have been set to write the script. The project is set to revive the iconic animated cat and mouse duo, previously attempted in the 2021 live-action hybrid film Tom and Jerry, which also starred Chloë Grace Moretz.

The tale of ‘Mahabharata’ is an all time classic, and one of the greatest epics of all time that needs little detailing. The biggest epic of all time, ‘Mahabharata’ is now set for a new stage adaptation at the UK premiere at London’s Barbican Theatre this fall.

The legendary Hindu epic that packs with it some of the greatest thought changing and detailed philosophies, a powerful story of a great war and spiritual ideas, is presented by the Canadian theatre production ‘Why Not Theatre’ and had its world premiere in Canada back in March at The Shaw Festival Theatre in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

According to Variety, the production is presented in two parts and narrated by a storyteller (Miriam Fernandes). ‘Karma’ (part 1), is the origin story of the rival Pandava and Kaurava clans. In ‘Dharma’ (part 2), a great battle destroys the planet and the survivors are left behind to rebuild.

A slice of Bollywood came to Britain's Buckingham Palace yesterday (13.10.09). Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip hosted a reception for Indian-origin achievers ahead of a state visit by President of India Pratibha Patil later this month, which involved a performance from dance group Nutkhut. The troupe was founded by Ajay Chhabra and Simmy Gupta and dancers - five females and three males - performed a 15-minute extract from the couple's Indian-inspired show 'Bollywood Steps'. Ajay said of the event: "We felt the setting leant itself to a film set - the columns, the fabric of the canopy - the bling of it stood out." His wife Simmy added: "It's a real privilege and honour to be asked to perform in...

Bollywood will visit the Queen tonight at a gala celebration at Buckingham Palace in honour of the visit of President Pratibha Patil to the UK at the end of this month. The Bollywood dance troupe, Nutkhut, will be performing in front of 300 guests in the Grand Ballroom. “We came here and were very excited about it,” said Ajay Chhabra of the troupe, “The columns, the fabrics — the bling of it stood out.”

The group consists of five women and three men and will be performing a routine, Bollywood Steps, described as decidedly sexy and hot. Simmy Gupta of the band explained, “Bollywood Steps is me growing up in England being a British Asian. It is influenced by Bollywood films and Hollywood films. It goes from my classically trained background to contemporary hip-hop. It is up to date, really sexy and hot.”

Cbbc (UK) commissions Planet Ajay, a new Bollywood-themed kids show from The Foundation, which is part of Rdf Media Group. Set on Planet Ajay, the home of Ajay Chhabra (better known as Anil from The Basil Brush Show), the series will incorporate music, dance, comedy and sketches as well as interactive segments. Ajay will play several of the characters on the show. Planet Ajay is currently in production and will be broadcast later this year. Rdf Kids & Family holds all international rights in the property and will be launching it at Miptv next week.
