Brooke Totman was born in Roseburg, Oregon and raised across small towns in the southern half of the state. She began her acting career as a child, performing in school plays and community theater. After receiving a B.A. in Theatre Arts at the University of Oregon, Brooke moved to Los Angeles where she was accepted into the training program of acclaimed sketch and improv company, the Groundlings. Eventually, Totman became a member of the Groundlings Sunday Company - writing and performing sketch comedy for a live audience on a weekly basis. During it's 5th season, Brooke joined the television show MadTV, as a featured cast member.

In 2004, Brooke moved back to Oregon and began writing and performing in Portland. She starred in several stage productions and made guest appearances on Portlandia and Documentary Now! In 2015, Brooke was offered the lead role of Jackie in the critically acclaimed series, The Benefits of Gusbandry. The success of this series prompted Brooke to open her own acting studio where she currently teaches theater, film and comedy classes. In 2017 Brooke created the sketch comedy company, Night Bus - a character-driven ensemble inspired by the weird and wonderful. Brooke writes and acts in the company and also serves as its producer and director.
