Stewart J. Zully is an actor, director, producer, writer and teacher. He has had more than 100 acting credits in films, television and theatre.

His resume includes the films Vice, Speed Kills, Wolf, For the Boys, Bonfire of the Vanities, Malcolm X, Fighting For Freedom, New In Town and Push. On television he had a recurring role on The Sopranos as Tony's accountant Alan Ginsberg and has appeared in over 35 episodes of Bluebloods, Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Law and Order CI, Burn Notice, Becker, Columbo and many others. Theater credits include leading roles Off-Broadway (among them, Tabletop, by Rob Ackerman, at The American Place Theater), Los Angeles, regionally and Toronto. In 2004 his commercial for Citibank's Identity Theft campaign won an Emmy as Best Commercial of The Year.

Stewart co-wrote and co-produced the feature film Perfect Opposites, which stars Piper Perabo, Aaron Paul, Joe Pantoliano and Jennifer Tilly. The movie is based on the stage play A Piece of My Heart, by Matt Cooper, which Stewart directed at The Odyssey Theater in Los Angeles.

He wrote and directed the award-winning short film, the front lines, inspired by our doctors and nurses concerning their grief, grit, and passion...everyday. Subsequently, he wrote and directed Two Steps Back, examining those individuals valiantly coping with the pandemic. Other co-writing credits include Umpires, the story of two umpires and the play that changed their lives forever.

Directing credits include the 2020 Ovation Nominated Nowhere On The Border at The Road Theatre, the 2017 Ovation recommended White Guy On The Bus, also at The Road, and Ovation nominated Martha at The Whitefire Theatre. His production of Heat of Re-Entry at Theatre 40 was considered "One of the best shows of the year" by The LA Times. In 2017 he co-produced The Road's Playwright Festival 8, the largest play reading festival in the country. Stewart has directed premiering pieces by David Lindsay-Abaire, Romulus Linney, Peter Tolan, Tim Sims, Marco Ramirez and Rolin Jones. In 2008 he directed three new works at City Theatre's Summer Shorts Series at The Arsht Center in Miami.

Theater producing credits include founding the award winning Theater 40 Annual One-Act Festival in 1990, where playwrights whose work had West Coast premieres included Arthur Miller, Horton Foote, Robert Schenkhan, Craig Lucas and Jane Anderson. Stewart produced the festival for six years, culminating with three plays published by Samuel French and two plays airing on A&E, starring Teri Garr, Martin Mull, Marian Seldes and Jean Stapleton.

His memoir, My Life In Yankee Stadium: 40 Years as a Vendor and Other Tales of Growing Up Somewhat Sane in the Bronx, is available on Amazon and at stewartjzully.com. Stewart has directed and taught acting workshops throughout the US and Canada, including New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, Miami, Orlando, Morristown, NJ and Hudson, NY.

He has been a member of The Actor's Studio Playwright and Director's Unit in Los Angeles since 2017 and is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York).
