The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 will have a How I Met Your Mother twist
Image
You know you loved How I Met Your Mother, right? The cast was incredibly good, and oddly, only the actor who played the lead role of Ted, Josh Radnor, has not achieved notable success since. So, what a great idea it is to have a tinge of How I Met Your Mother added to the fourth season of Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer.

It won't be Radnor who will be joining the Netflix series, though. Instead, Variety recently reported that Cobie Smulders, who played Robin on the NBC program, will be coming to your favorite streamer. And not in a small role. She will play a pivotal character named Allison.

Allison is somehow connected to Mickey, the lawyer that the show's plot revolves around, but in what way we don't yet know. There appears to be a good chance that Smulders' Allison has more than a one-season arc, too. Rumors...

Netflix’s legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer is reviving its courtroom sessions once again, but this time, viewers in the backseat will have a view of some new faces. Yes, season 4 of the stylish legal thriller is underway, with Mickey Haller in serious trouble after the wild cliffhanger ending, where a client turned up dead in his trunk. The upcoming season will feature a gutsy paralegal-in-training, a no-nonsense cellmate with international flair, and a real-life TV reporter playing, well, herself, and others. The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4: Cast, Plot And More Confirmed Details
Image
"The Lincoln Lawyer" is on the road yet again for its fourth season. Based on the popular book series by Michael Connelly and previously adapted into one of Matthew McConaughey's best films, the Netflix series follows the defense attorney Mickey Haller as he travels through Los Angeles from the backseat of his signature Lincoln Navigator. Created for TV by veteran scribe David E. Kelley and adapted by Ted Humphrey, the series has become one of Netflix's most anticipated shows and has been greenlit for an increasingly rare fourth season.

Each season so far has adapted a different book in the Lincoln Lawyer series, skipping the first novel (presumably in hopes of not retreading any ground covered by the McConaughey film) to adapt "The Brass Verdict" in season 1, "The Fifth Witness" in season 2, and "The Gods of Guilt" in season 3. Season 4 is set to adapt the sixth book in the series,...

Cobie Smulders
Cobie Smulders, familiar to television viewers for her work on How I Met Your Mother and Stumptown, has joined the fourth season of Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, now in production in Los Angeles. The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 rounds out cast after shocking exit
Image
Even though The Lincoln Lawyer will be down a fan-favorite character in season 4, the hit Netflix original legal drama has added four more new cast members to the fold. Superman & Lois alum Emmanuelle Chriqui, The Man in the High Castle star Jason O'Mara, The Oval favorite Javon Johnson, and chef Nancy Silverton will make appearances in the upcoming fourth season.

Chriqui might have the most pivotal role of the bunch as Jeanine Ferrigno, a local gangster's girlfriend and a figure in a criminal enterprise who supplies Mickey with some pressing info in support of his defense strategy. Meanwhile, O'Mara plays Jack Gilroy, Maggie's (Neve Campbell) current boyfriend, who could be standing in the way of Mickey and Maggie's rekindling.

Beyond those two roles that seem to have recurring potential, Johnson appears in season 4 as Carter Gates, a formerly troubled but currently thriving businessman who's again on the wrong side of...

Fire Country Manny And Renee New Hot Romance!

Fire Country spoilers suggest that Manny Perez (Kevin Alejandro) may have changed his mind about flipping on his NDA, but he may have found something much more important in Renee Dwyer (Constance Zimmer).

Manny originally planned to flip on his NDA because of the injuries sustained by the inmates at Cal Fire. Did he find more than an attorney in Renee?

Manny Perez Is Unlucky In Love

Manny certainly doesn’t have any glowing reviews when it comes to his love life. Gabi’s mother was a complete bust when they were together. Manny’s girlfriend on the show used him against his friends and coworkers.

Now Renee wanted Manny to ignore his NDA and get the inmates from Cal Fire to flip as well. However, Manny and Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) couldn’t pull that off.

However, it seems that Renee is quite impressed with Manny and let him...

'My Satisfaction Is Irrelevant': Former Lincoln Lawyer Star Opens Up on 'Unexpected' Series Exit
Image
Netflix officially renewed the legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer for Season 4, a few months after the release of the latest installment. However, not all members will return.

Shortly after the renewal, it was revealed that The Lincoln Lawyer would go on without a key character, Yaya DaCosta's Andrea Freedman. The actress made her debut on the legal show in Season 2, impressing everyone with her court battle against main character Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and she returned as a main character in Season 3, as her story further deepened and she became Mickey's love interest. In a new interview with TV Insider, DaCosta opened up about her shocking exit and teased that fans might see her again.

The Lincoln Lawyer is based on Michael Connelly's novels, although the Netflix series took a lot of creative freedom with the characters, including Andrea Freedman. In the novels, her character wasn't a big part of the series,...

MobLand Season 1 Episode 3 Reveals When Plan A Involves War, You Can Guess What Plan B Looks Like
Image
By the time Maeve Harrigan is casually suggesting the assassination of a grieving mother as “Plan B,” you realize the Harrigans don’t really do strategy.

They do theater and spectacle. Most of all, they do survival at any cost, preferably with as much psychological damage as possible.

MobLand Season 2 Episode 3 takes everything that’s been simmering in the first two hours — grief, revenge, dysfunction, and half-whispered threats — and turns it into something colder, more calculating.

(Luke Varley/Paramount+)

The bomb that opens the episode may not kill anyone, but emotionally, it’s a declaration of war.

And by the end of the hour, there’s no mistaking who’s willing to get their hands bloody… or who already has.

The Setup Is Explosive, But the Fallout Is All Psychology (Luke Varley/Paramount+)

Kevin’s house gets blown to bits, and instead of calling the cops or retreating from danger,...

Days of Our Lives Spoilers for the Week of 4-14-25: Sami Kisses the Wrong Guy (Again), Xander’s World Comes Crashing Down, and More Suspects on the Hot Seat
Image
Sami might think she’s got a handle on her past now that she’s in therapy, but she wouldn’t be who she is if she were right about that!

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-14-25 have Sami jumping into a kiss with another one of her exes.

We’ve been here before, many times, and it remains to be seen if Sami’s new attitude will make any difference to the fallout.

(Peacock/Screenshot) Yes, Sami Kisses Rafe Again, and This Can’t Possibly End Well

Technically, Rafe is single, and as far as we know, so is Sami.

Still, this is a bad idea. Rafe isn’t like Ej — he’s a decent guy, and he and Sami were a strong couple once.

Unfortunately, he just got out of a relationship with Jada, and that breakup is the definition of a split for the sake of drama!

Diane Farr’s Sharon Is Ready to Tear Constance Zimmer A New One on Fire Country Season 3 Episode 17 “Fire and Ice”
Image
Well, looks who is back on Fire Country. I knew the third season wouldn’t waste a talent like Constance Zimmer. These writers are really pulling out all the stops to elevate this show.

And kudos to the hands behind the series for keeping things consistent. It really seemed like the show was going to fall back on old habits a few times throughout “Fire and Ice.”

I have to hand it to Fire Country Season 3 Episode 17. The arguments and drama felt real and not forced. The episodic case’s plotting was genius and possibly had an unexpected effect on some viewers.

(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

The bottom line is that this has been the best season of Fire Country, and, ironically, I hope whatever spark lit a fire under the writers never dies down.

For one, when have we ever been bigger fans of Miss Gabriela Perez than we have...

Chicago Pd Season 12 Episode 18 Spoilers: Can Voight & Chapman Take Reid Down?
Image
Good grief, Shawn Hatosy has to be the hardest-working man in television right now.

And it’s well-deserved because the man is truly one of the greats. Fortunately, for fans of the actor, The Pitt and Rescue Hi-Surf may have wrapped up their seasons, but we’re still getting some quality time with the man on Chicago Pd.

After a brief hiatus, we’re back with Chicago Pd Season 12 Episode 18. We’re returning to the big Reid arc as Voight and Chapman work double time trying to take this man down.

(Elizabeth Sisson/NBC) Reid Has Voight in a Vice Grip

It’s been frustrating to see that Reid has Voight in a vice grip. Still, one of the season’s pitfalls is that Reid is this significant threat looming over the season. Still, it’s so infrequently and inconsistently covered that it sometimes loses momentum.

Nevertheless, Reid is this...

Exclusive Interviews: Watson’s Eve Harlow and Rochelle Aytes Can’t Get Enough of Each Other
Image
Though it is only in its freshman season, Watson has certainly gathered together quite the cast of characters. Two such skilled cast members were kind enough to sit down with TV Fanatic.

Before we get into it, though, if you haven’t had a chance to see the show, it is incredible. What stands out the most are the episodic cases.

Watson has made true medical mysteries its bread and butter. Which means the Holmes Clinic is going to need some of the best and brightest to heal the terminally ill.

(Sally Montana/CBS)

Eve Harlow and Rochelle Aytes stopped by to discuss some of the developing drama and huge twists headed our way on Watson Season 1 Episode 9, “Take a Family History.”

Don’t worry, though, because while Eve does discuss what’s in store for Dr. Ingrid, I took the liberty of hiding any spoilers because, trust me, it is Good.

Tactical Wallpaper: The Tragedy of TV’s Background Regulars
Image
Some characters are written to grow, change, and carry the weight of a show’s emotional arc.

Others are written to… stand nearby. Quietly. Maybe throw in a reaction shot or a one-liner.

These are the characters I call tactical wallpaper — the ones who’ve been on our screens for years but somehow still feel like strangers.

(Peter Gordon/NBC)

They’re not guest stars. They’re not day players. They’re part of the ensemble. And yet, we know nothing about them.

They get no story arcs, deep emotional beats, or even a vague mention of life outside the job. They just exist. Always there, never seen.

Let’s start with Chicago Fire. It’s one of the worst offenders, and I say that with love.

Hallmark and the Sheridanverse Are Two Sides of the Same Escapist Coin
Image
At first glance, Yellowstone and a Hallmark holiday movie have nothing in common — one’s a blood-soaked Western dynasty and the other’s a low-stakes seasonal romance in a town that smells like cookies.

But here’s the twist: many viewers who love one also love the other.

Though drastically different in tone and aesthetics, these two storytelling empires are built on the same emotional scaffolding: family, loyalty, romance, grief, homecomings, and the eternal hope that love or legacy will somehow make everything right.

(Paramount+/Hallmark Screenshot)

It’s not as strange as it sounds. The Taylor Sheridan universe may wrap its stories in barbed wire and generational trauma, but at their core, they’re still deeply soapy.

His shows aren’t grounded in gritty realism — they’re emotionally heightened, dramatically stylized, and sometimes downright operatic. Sound familiar?

Your Friends & Neighbors Premiere Review: When the Dream Turns Out to Be a Lie (But the Watch Is Still Real)
Image
Jon Hamm’s Andrew “Coop” Cooper doesn’t fall from grace so much as he’s pushed.

Fired under false pretenses, replaced emotionally by an NBA all-star, and quietly erased from the only world he ever knew — Coop doesn’t fight back. Not at first. He just… absorbs it.

The heartbreak, the humiliation, the financial gut-punch. He’s not angry — he’s stunned. That’s what makes him dangerous.

(Courtesy of Apple TV+)

On the premiere of Apple TV+‘s Your Friends & Neighbors, Coop’s undoing doesn’t feel like karma. It feels like a rigged system finally cashing in on its favored sons, and Coop realizing too late that he was never one of them.

Yes, he slept with a younger employee. One time. Months ago. And yes, she was clearly into him.

The Real Unique Is Back on Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 6 — And He’s Coming for Everything
Image
He’s baccccck!

Well, we’ve known Unique was back since Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 10, but Raq didn’t.

She, and everybody but Early and a veterinarian, thought Unique was long gone, no longer a threat on the Southside. She and everyone thought wrong.

(Courtesy of Starz)

I was starting to worry about how long they would keep Unique hidden because there’s only so long you can hide in plain sight.

With each move Unique made, he was putting himself out there more and more, and at some point, somebody was going to see him and realize, “Damn, you look a lot like Unique.”

Unique would then open his mouth and make a quip about coming back from the dead, and the jig would be up.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 14 Spells Doom for Two Major Relationships
Image
What is it about the back half of this season of Grey’s Anatomy?

It lacks pizazz or real excitement, and while Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 14 wasn’t the worst offering the season has had, it was just okay.

The mentorships and friendships are making strides, but the relationships? Those are falling apart.

(Disney/Mike Taing)

Perhaps one of the hour’s issues was the lack of presence for some of the series’ robust cast. Some of the characters were utilized in unusual ways.

The tension between Teddy and Ben remains bizarre, and his attempts to return to practicing medicine have been very clumsy. It’s hard to tell what’s working with him and what isn’t.

Law & Order: Svu Season 26 Episode 18 Quietly Addresses the Harsh Truth About Trauma and Criminality
Image
I’ve been critical of Law & Order: Svu Season 26, but when it gets it right, it Really hits hard.

Law & Order: Svu Season 26 Episode 18 (“The Accuser”) had everything that I love about this show.

It didn’t hold back, but it also didn’t hit the audience over the head with its message — and that’s especially important when it explores issues like the relationship between trauma and crime.

(Peter Kramer/NBC) Law & Order: Svu Season 26 Episode 18 Blurred The Line Between Victim And Perpetrator

“The Accuser” focused on the blurry line between victim and perpetrator, which allowed it to ask some difficult, hard-hitting questions.

As the episode began, Eddie Upshaw seemed like the least likely person to ever become the victim of a violent crime, which is TV speak for him having a terrible secret that needed to come to light.

“It Was Not Expected": 'The Lincoln Lawyer's Andrea Freeman Exit Addressed by Yaya DaCosta
Image
Good shows have a way of setting you up to consistently want more. Netflix's hit legal drama, The Lincoln Lawyer, is consistent with that and its third season finale did exactly that. Cruising down the streets of Los Angeles with the wind in his face, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is celebrating victory in yet another tough case, and this time he intends to take a vacation. But when a police officer pulls him over for a missing license plate, the body of his client Sam Scales (Christopher Thornton) is found in the trunk. Season 4 has already begun filming in Los Angeles in February and the sixth book in Michael Connelly's Lincoln Lawyer series, The Law of Innocence, will be adapted. However, there is one character who might not return for Season 4.

Yaya DaCosta was introduced in Season 2, in which she played fierce criminal prosecutor Andrea Freeman. After adversarial...

When Constance Zimmer was cast in Fire Country as Renee, the character was described as "a force to be reckoned with." She fights for what's right, especially in the conservation of the environment. The Villain Edit: Reality TV editing or realistic portrayal?
Image
It's time for us to talk. Fans, I have been with you for eight seasons of ups and downs of Love is Blind and other reality shows. We have loved and not loved the cast together. We have wanted to collectively throw our TVs and laptops into the ocean in protest. I'm glad I live in the desert because it would have gotten expensive this season of Love is Blind, especially.

How-ev-er...it's too much. I love to talk trash about the cast with the best of them. I even made it my job. Everything I say about the cast, however, I would absolutely say to their face. That isn't the case, or at least it shouldn't be, for 99 percent of the hateful comments the cast gets on their own social pages and in their DMs.

Who is sliding into a stranger's DMs to tell them they deserve death, you ask?...

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 13 Brings in a Talented Powerhouse For a Guest Role and Hopefully So Much More
Image
Did anyone else expect this to be a different kind of Fire Country episode? I know the promos are meant to incite anticipation, but the one for “My Team” is all lies at this point.

In fact, this episode contained a number of misleads, and while we’ll get to those, there was still a lot about the story that worked.

This season of Fire Country has gone above and beyond to craft better episodic tales that feel less about the shock value and more about how each situation changes the characters.

Gabriela was the first character to see significant improvement and growth, with her character currently on a journey of self-discovery. Now, it’s Bode’s turn.
