Daxing Zhang started his acting career on Bernardo Bertolucci's "Last Emperor". He moved to Los Angeles in the late 1990s and worked on major network TV projects and studio features such as Warner Brothers' "The Matrix" and Sony Pictures' "Charlie's Angels" (I & II), both as an actor and as an action unit manager, before becoming a writer/producer for over 20 years. Daxing was a key creative producer on Keanu Reeves' directorial debut film, "Man of Tai Chi".
Daxing returned to acting in 2024 and starred in Meng-hung Chong's "The Embers" as well as in Jan. P. Matusyinski's "Minghun", playing the 2nd lead role opposite Marcin Dorocinski, one of Poland's best known lead actors.
Daxing's name is pronounced as "Da-Shing", much like the opening word in "Jingo Bell". Daxing went to Renmin University in Beijing, China, before transferring to Middlebury College in Vermont, where he received his B.A. degree.
