  • Inducted into the Horror Host Hall of Fame in 2011.
  • He was a heralded disc jockey (or DJ) on pioneer progressive rock music radio station WNEW-FM in New York, New York in the 1970s.
  • As "Roland", he hosted "Shock Theater" in his ghoulish makeup and attire on WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1957 to 1958. In 1959, he commuted from his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to New York, New York, where he hosted WABC-TV's "Zacherle at Large".
  • As "The Cool Ghoul", he was the first host/performer of the "Mighty Hercules Cartoon Show" for WPIX-TV in New York, New York, where it was shown weekday evenings from Monday, September 9, 1963, to Friday, November 15, 1963. He also hosted "The Three Stooges Show" for the same WPIX-TV, where it was later shown weekday evenings from Monday, January 6, 1964, to Friday, January 31, 1964.
  • Had a top ten hit (USA) with the novelty song "Dinner With Drac" in 1958
  • Hosted several rock concerts in New York, New York's Central Park in the 1960s and 1970s while in ghoulish makeup as "Zacherle".
