    • Tammany Young was born on September 9, 1886 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for Checkers (1919), Une riche affaire (1934) and The Foundling (1916). He was married to Gertrude Savage and May. He died on April 26, 1936 in Hollywood, California, USA.

Trivia

  • Thick-lipped character actor who appeared in several Mack Sennett and D.W. Griffith films in the silent days; he later supported W.C. Fields in several of his comedies, before his early death.
  • Well known for his gate crashing. In 1921 Young managed to gain entrance to the "Battle of the Century" championship fight between Jack Dempsey and Frenchman Georges Carpentier disguised as an iceman.
