- Lead vocalist/guitarist of the folk-rock group The Youngbloods that peaked on the American Billboard charts at # 5 in September 1969 with "Get Together." The song was written in 1964 by Chet Powers and several versions had been recorded before the Youngbloods did so. Their version was actually recorded in 1966, then released in July 1967, but only reached #62 on the Billboard Top 100 and #40 in Canada. The same recording was re-released in 1969 to much greater popularity reaching #6 in Canada and #5 on Billboard.
