Dom DeLuise and Darcel Wynne in The Last Married Couple in America (1980)
Extremely gorgeous and shapely African-American stunner Darcel Wynne was born on June 13, 1953 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Darcel moved to Hollywood, California as a teenager and got her first professional television dancing gig at age 14 by claiming she was 18. She was one of the original, most popular, and beloved prominently-featured dancers on the immensely-successful music series "Solid Gold." She started on the two-hour "Solid Gold '79" pilot, appeared on "Solid Gold" from 1980 to 1983, rejoined in 1985 and remained on the show until the end of the 1986 season, during which she regularly announced the countdown recaps near the end of each episode. Also, she starred as Cinderella in the video for Kool and the Gang's "Fresh" and appeared in the exercise videos "The Solid Gold 5-Day Workout" and "Darcel's Body Workout." Wynne had small dancing parts in the films "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Mame," "Xanadu," and "Night Shift, and the made-for-TV movie "The Girl, the Gold Watch & Dynamite. She played Tiger Lily in a stage production of "Peter Pan" starring Sandy Duncan and was featured in a stage production of "Hello Dolly" starring Pearl Bailey. Among the people she has danced for are Carol Burnett, Mac Davis, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Barry Manilow. In addition, Wynne was a dancer for the 1983 Jerry Lewis Telethon, popped up as a dancing rollerskater in an episode of the hit sitcom "Mork and Mindy," and was even interviewed by David Letterman on "Late Night With David Letterman." After leaving "Solid Gold" in 1986 she quit show business and became a born-again Christian. She has three children with her husband, Glenn Leonard of the Temptations.

    • Quotes
The image I portray on "Solid Gold" is much different than who I am in everyday life. I want people to know that I'm really just a regular person.
