Reacher Season 4 Recasts Major Character Shortly After Filming Started
Image
Prime Video's hit action series Reacher is officially coming back with Season 4. The fans won't have to wait long, as the show has returned to filming a few months after Season 3's finale in March.

The series is based on Lee Child's Jack Reacher anthology series, and follows its titular protagonist, an elite ex-military police major, as he travels across the U.S., exposing conspiracies, corruption, and trafficking. Many cast members changed from one season to the other, and Reacher Season 4 has recently announced new additions. However, shortly after the cast reveal, Deadline reports Jay Baruchel has been recast, and Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette will take over.

How to Train Your Dragon's Jay Baruchel had been originally cast as Jacob Merrick, a small-town policeman. However, he was reportedly "forced to exit" the production shortly after he was cast to "attend to a personal matter." Instead, Barry star Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette will take over the role.

Reacher's Neagley Spinoff Gets Major Update (& It's Good News for Season 4)
Image
It's official: Neagley has wrapped production on its first season. The filming update was given by series lead Maria Sten, who is reprising her role from Reacher as Frances Neagley.

Sten revealed that filming had wrapped on the Reacher spinoff over the past weekend with a post on Instagram. Alongside a bloody behind-the-scenes photo, which suggests that Neagley will find herself part of more than one intense fight in the spinoff, Sten wrote the following: "that’s a wrap on [Neagley] season 1! this story is so so special, folks. I cannot wait for you all to see what we’ve cooked up! I hope you’re ready cause it’s gonna be a wild one!"

'Reacher' Season 4 Won't Return as Quickly as Previous Seasons
Image
Alan Ritchson may be off saving the day again soon—but fans will have to wait longer than usual to see it. Following the action-packed conclusion of Reacher Season 3, Prime Video has confirmed a fourth season is on the way. However, according to a new report from TVLine, season 4 won’t begin filming until production wraps on the Frances Neagley spinoff series, which stars Maria Sten as Neagley. The two shows share much of the same crew, meaning Reacher will have to wait its turn.

Season 3, which debuted earlier this year, saw Ritchson's Reacher go back to his solo roots, delivering the kind of no-nonsense justice that made season 1 such a breakout hit in 2022. After a more mixed reception to season 2, the most recent chapter was praised as a return to form. With Reacher now Prime Video’s biggest original series, fans expected a yearly rollout to continue uninterrupted. But that plan might be shifting.

A brief exchange at the close of Reacher‘s Season 3 finale seemed to set the tone for the Prime Video hit’s upcoming Neagley spinoff.

After Jack Reacher (played by Alan Ritchson), Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) and DEA agents Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) and Guillermo Villanueva (Roberto Montesinos) got the best of the supervillainous Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee), Neagley shared an observation with her onetime 110th MP Special Investigations Unit boss.

Everything We Know About the 'Reacher' Spin-off
Image
Alan Ritchson became a household name and the face of a rip-roaring franchise when he began portraying the silent-and-lethal titular character in the 2022 action crime sensation Reacher, an adaptation of the popular Lee Child novels that focuses on the perpetually wandering former U.S. Army military policeman as trouble seems to follow him everywhere he goes. The self-proclaimed hobo becomes caught up in one dangerous conspiracy after the next, defending the innocent and using his brute strength and extensive knowledge to take down one nefarious foe after the next.

Both a critical and commercial knockout with an action-packed third season currently airing, Reacher has completely captivated audiences all across the world with Ritchson's phenomenal performances, gripping storylines, and colorful supporting characters. In October 2024, a spin-off starring Reacher's fiercely loyal best friend Frances Neagley was officially announced to be in the works at the streaming service, with Maria Sten set to headline the highly-buzzed-about companion series.

Alan Ritchson has hinted at appearing in Reacher spinoff Neagley. His co-star Maria Sten will reprise her role as private investigator Frances Neagley in the upcoming Prime Video series.

Neagley will have Frances investigating the death of an old friend to determine whether it was truly an accident, or if foul play was involved. Reacher producer Nick Santora is spearheading the spinoff show, so fans have naturally wondered with whether Jack Reacher could cross over to help Frances's investigation.

'Law & Order's Concept Was Based on the 1960s Series 'Arrest and Trial'
Image
Quick Links'Law & Order' vs. 'Arrest and Trial'How 'Law & Order' Managed to Stand Out

Dun-dun! The Law & Orderfranchise has been a part of our television landscape since 1990. The original series and its spin-offs comprise a whopping 67 seasons and over 1,300 episodes. As iconic as Law & Order is, it's hard to imagine that its concept was borrowed heavily from another series. That series was the 1960s similarly titled Arrest and Trial.

If you've never heard of this show, you're likely not alone. Arrest and Trial aired for a single season on ABC and blended elements of police procedurals and courtroom dramas. To be fair, Law & Order didn't copy Arrest and Trial's premise on purpose. The similarities were only discovered after Dick Wolf pitched the series. But rather than abandon the concept, Wolf and the team chose to retool while making some distinct changes. Still, without this little-known '60s series,...

10 TV Spin-offs That Are Nothing Like The Original
Image
Television's long tradition of spin-offs has yielded some of the most innovative and beloved shows to ever hit the small screen. A spin-off is a new TV show that features a character or characters from a pre-existing series. Often, spin-offs are an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of a breakout character, and they stick closely to the tone of the program they originate from. But this isn't always the case.

Sometimes spin-offs and their progenitors vary wildly in tone, subject matter, or even genre. This is often the case with 'back door spin-offs' or preconceived shows that air their pilot as an episode of a popular show to create the illusion that the shows are connected. Still other times, the spin-off merely evolves to create its own identity.

Neagley | Amazon Prime gives series order to Reacher spin-off
Maria Sten
Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) is getting her own show, as Amazon orders a full series to centre around the character from Reacher.

As entertaining as the Tom Cruise Jack Reacher films are, it’s Alan Ritchson’s take on the character (based on the novels by Lee Child) which garnered the most acclaim. It’s thus not surprising Amazon is expanding the Reacher universe, since it’s one of its most popular shows, having already notched up two seasons and a third run now on the way.

According to Deadline, Amazon has given a series order to a spin-off with the working title of Neagley, which will revolve around the character played by Maria Sten, who will reprise the role.

The synopsis reads as follows:

Frances Neagley is a private investigator in Chicago and former military colleague of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit.

Neagley Getting a Spinoff Could Change Reacher a Lot
Image
Reacher is one of Prime Video's most popular shows. Season 1 of the series made its debut in February 2022 and became an instant hit, scoring 92% on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer. A second season followed in December 2023, with Season 3 of the series simultaneously announced. The rapidity with which the seasons of Reacher progressed speaks volumes as to the popularity of the show. Given this, the new Reacher-based spinoff, announced by Deadline, is almost expected.

Prime Video is reportedly looking to fast-track a spinoff centering on Maria Sten's character, Frances Neagley. Titled after its protagonist, similarly to the parent series, the new show will be called Neagley. The character, a former colleague of Jack Reacher's from the 110th Special Investigations Unit, was a constant in the parent series. As such, fans are quite familiar with the character, making her the perfect candidate for a spinoff to be based on. However, Neagley getting her...

A Neagley spin-off from the Prime Video series, Reacher, is being developed at Amazon
Image
Frances Neagley is about to venture off into her own cases with a solo series that will spin off from the hit Prime Video Lee Child series Reacher. Deadline is reporting that the popular character, who made her debut in season one, is getting her own show developed at Amazon in an effort to turn Reacher into a franchise. The show, tentatively titled Neagley will star Maria Sten as the titular character. The character of Neagley is a corporate security professional and former military colleague of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. It is also being reported that Ritchson is set to appear in the spinoff as a guest star, reprising his role as Reacher.

Reacher executive producer and showrunner Nick Santora partners with Nicholas Wootton on the development. The two have also previously worked together on the series Prison Break. Both are also...

Prime Video Expands ‘Reacher’ Franchise with New Spinoff Series
Alan Ritchson in Reacher (2022)
Amazon’s Prime Video will expand the hit “Reacher” universe with a new spinoff show focused on a popular character from the original series. The untitled show, which is currently in early development, will center around Frances Neagley.

Neagley was introduced in season one of “Reacher” as a former co-worker and security consultant to the titular character. Played by Maria Sten, Neagley proved popular among fans. Her likable personality and skills in the field of security have prompted Prime Video to move forward with this new program, tentatively called “Neagley.”

The spinoff will be led by the same creative team behind “Reacher.” Nick Santora, who serves as executive producer and showrunner of the original series, will work alongside Nicholas Wootton to develop and oversee the new show. Santora and Wootton previously collaborated on the AMC series “Prison Break.”

According to sources, Alan Ritchson may guest star in “Neagley” reprising his role as Jack Reacher.

Reacher Spin-Off Series Neagley In Development At Amazon — Maria Sten To Star
Image
If there's one thing the folks over at Amazon love more than a good series, it's a good series with real franchise potential. It's why we don't just have The__Boys, but also Gen V and the recently announced Vought Rising; and it's why we don't just have Citadel, but Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny too. Now, it's looking like the streamer's popular action-thriller show Reacher is next in line for a spin-off. According to Deadline's reporting, Neagley, a Prime Video show centred around — you guessed it! — fan favourite character Frances Neagley is nearing a green light, with Maria Sten expected to reprise her Reacher role.

Whilst Sgt. Frances Neagley has a less prominent part to play in Lee Child's Jack Reacher books, the character — a security expert and former 110th Special Investigations Unit compadre of Alan Ritchson's man-mountain Jack Reacher — has been pivotal to the show.

Reacher Spinoff Centered On Fan Favorite Character In Development At Prime Video
Image
A Reacher spinoff centered on a fan favorite character is in development at Prime Video, as the streamer seeks to turn the popular action series into a franchise. Based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, each season follows its titular character investigating a new conspiracy, going head-to-head with people trying to harm him and others he cares about. The show has been a major success for Prime Video, with season 2 becoming its Number 1 title worldwide upon premiere. Reacher season 3 wrapped filming in July 2024, based on Child's seventh book in the series, Persuader.

According to Deadline, a spinoff titled Neagley is in development with the streaming service, following Reacher's former military partner and current investigative assistant Frances Neagley. The show would see Maria Stern reprise her role as the security expert, with Reacher showrunner Nick Santora teaming up with Nicholas Wootton (Prison Break) to co-run the spinoff.

What's The Endgame? Morena Baccarin Teases Elena's Unimaginable Agenda — Plus, Who Is Her Favorite Batman?
Image
What is The Endgame for the enigmatic and clearly brilliant Elena Federova?

Thus far on NBC’s freshman mystery-thriller airing Mondays at 10/9c), Morena Baccarin‘s criminal mastermind has vexed FBI Agent Val Turner (played by First Wives Club‘s Ryan Michelle Bathé) and her G-man colleagues, as well as those of us watching at home. To date, Elena has orchestrated the robbing or hijacking of no fewer than seven New York City banks (in keeping with some “Snow White” theme) — and exposed the secrets of some government stooges along the way — all whilst calmly cooling her heels in a cell in Queens’ Fort Totten.

‘The Endgame’ Stars Morena Baccarin, Ryan Michelle Bathé on Elena and Val’s Dark Pasts and Isaac Bigby Bond
Image
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “Fairytale Wedding,” the Feb. 28 episode of NBC’s “The Endgame.”

NBC’s new high-octane crime drama “The Endgame” aired its second episode Monday, revealing many more compelling details about its leading ladies — Morena Baccarin’s international arms dealer/crime boss Elena Federova and Ryan Michelle Bathé’s FBI agent Val Turner — than it did in its week-ago series premiere.

In the episode, “Fairytale Wedding,” we saw the titular nuptials go up in flames when the church where Elena and her now-husband Sergey Vodianov (Costa Ronin) were to be wed was blown up with everyone they loved inside. This was our first peek into Elena’s life with Sergey, who is currently presumed dead by Val and the rest of the world — but is actually in an upstate New York prison with Val’s husband, Owen (Kamal Bolden).

“What the wedding...
