    Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Eric William Stanley Woofe was the son of Eric George Griffith Woofe and Beryl Florence (nee Dick) Woofe, both of whom predeceased him. Twice married and divorced, Woofe died in 2013, aged 71, in his native Auckland, following a lengthy illness and having been predeceased by one of his three children.
