Netflix continues to clean house as the streamer evaluates which shows they opt to continue making. Earlier, That 90s Show fell victim to cancellation. Now, according to Deadline, Netflix has decided not to renew the Jeff Goldblum high-concept series, Kaos. It had been confirmed by one of the show’s stars, Aurora Perrineau, in a now-deleted Instagram post.

In the deleted post, Perrineau said, “Well… this one hurts. I find explaining how I’m feeling to be really difficult, but I’ll try. When I started auditioning for this show, I knew it was special, mainly due to the fact that Charlie Covell’s scripts resonated with me in a way most things hadn’t. I knew all of these people, and I loved them all — every flaw, everything.”

The Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed for Kaos. Kaos is a just-released Netflix comedy series that plays off Greek mythology in a modern-day, contemporary reimagining. The series features Jeff Goldblum in the lead role of Zeus, along with Janet McTeer as Hera, Stephan Dillane as Prometheus, Aurora Perrineau as Riddy, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, Killian Scott as Orpheus, Misia Butler as Caeneus, Susan Wooldridge as Pious Agatha, David Thewlis as Hades, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, and Leila Farzad as Ari.

Now, the Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed for Kaos. At the time of writing, Kaos holds a fresh score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes among the 24 critics who have reviewed it. The Popcornmeter (audience score) has under 50 reviews in, but so far sits at a 75%. This score is subject to change, for the show just released yesterday, August 29, meaning that far more reviews could be released in the coming days.

Kaos is a dark comedy series from creator Charlie Covell and writer Georgia Christou. Georgi Banks-Davis directs five episodes of Koas, while Runyararo Mapfumo shoots the remaining three. Jeff Goldblum leads the cast, including Aurora Perrieau, Debi Mazar, Fady Elsayed, Sam Buttery, Matthew Koon, Elander Moore, Susan Wooldridge, Shila Ommi, and Amanda Douge.

Over 100 well-known names – including writers, actors, directors and musicians – have signed a pledge supporting Lorde's decision not to perform in Israel.

The statement was published in The Guardian following backlash over the Kiwi singer’s cancellation of her concert in Tel Aviv. It is a direct response to a full page ad published in the Washington Post on January 1 which called Lorde a bigot and also attacked her homeland of New Zealand.

“We deplore the bullying tactics being used to defend injustice against Palestinians and to suppress an artist’s freedom of conscience. We support Lorde’s right to take a stand,” reads the letter in The Guardian. "Shmuley Boteach, the author and promoter of the advert, supports Israel’s illegal settlements and wrote last month on Breitbart to thank Donald Trump for “electrifying the world” with his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in defiance of international law.

Chicago – “The Lady” is a textbook example of a missed opportunity. It assembles a talented cast and crew to tell the story of Aung San Suu Kyi, an extraordinary woman who sacrificed everything—including her own freedom—in order to bring democracy to her homeland of Burma. Her life story deserves far more than an episodic biopic, but that’s exactly what it receives here.

Director Luc Besson is an odd choice for this subject matter, considering his filmography favors plot-driven action over character-driven drama. Though this picture runs over two hours, every scene seems determined to finish up before the next commercial break. Nothing is expanded upon or embellished. It is the SparkNotes equivalent of cinema. The best it can do is inspire viewers to seek out the rest of the story for themselves.

Up until last year, film festivals had always been a bit of a mystery to me. I had gone to a few conventions before and been shown advanced screenings of films, but to actually go to an event where all you did was watch films seemed a bit beyond my reach. Didn’t help either that I had never really lived in areas with affordable or frequent festivals. That is, up until last year when I was introduced to AFI Fest. They hooked me in with free tickets and the promise of engaging cinema from around the world. To say I had fun is a bit of an understatement.
