Thomas Woschitz (1968) is an Austrian director, screenwriter and editor. He studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, Italy and directed several short films, which have all been shown at numerous festivals, such as Cannes Film Festival Girls and Cars in a Colored New World (2004), Venice Blindgänger (1996) and Locarno Die Josef Trilogie (2004).
In 2009 he won the renowned "Max Ophüls Prize" for his first feature film Universalove (2008), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and at the Berlin Int. Filmfestival 2009. His second film Bad Luck (2015), a black comedy thriller, (Max Ophüls Festival, Shanghai, Diagonal Award 2009) was acclaimed by critics as "a jewel of a film". His latest film is The Million Dollar Bet (2024), a dramatic comedy in Las Vegas.
