From strange royals loosely inspired by history to surprisingly altruistic civil servants, there is a match for every person. Review: Dementia is one of the scariest things I can think of. Losing the ability to access your own memories and being unable to recognize your loved ones is downright awful. So I was really interested when they brought up the concept and seemed like that would be the main idea at play Jagged Mind. I feel silly being so wrong. What starts as an interesting idea with our lead Billy seeing her death over and over, unable to properly comprehend time, swiftly devolves into a near Lifetime movie. Or maybe that was just the lighting.

Knowing that this started as a short film, First Date, (as part of Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween) I can see elements that carried over here.

The filmmaker, known for her movies The Adventures of Thomasina Sawyer and I’m Fine (Thanks for Asking), now wades into uncharted territory. Her latest outing, the Hulu film Jagged Mind, revives the erotic thriller genre, albeit with a twist: this story is about a lesbian couple.

“When I read the script, the one thing I really loved, that I’d not seen much of — this is an LGBTQ story,” explained Kali through a bright smile. “But it’s not a coming out story. It wasn’t all this drama. It was two women just trying to date like everybody else. We’re just dropped in that world. They’re just trying to find love like everyone else on this planet.”

Apple TV Plus will not be moving ahead with a second season of “Mr. Corman,” A24’s schoolteacher drama starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the streamer has confirmed.

The final episode “The Big Picture” was released Friday. Gordon-Levitt created, wrote, directed and executive produced the series about a fifth grade teacher and former musician working in the San Fernando Valley.

Apple TV Plus is continuing to work with Gordon-Levitt on the new animated series “Wolfboy and the Everything Factory,” for which he voices a lead character and serves as executive producer.

After premiering Aug. 6, “Mr. Corman” garnered a respectable 70% on Rotten Tomatoes.
