Evangelion Returns to Its Original '90s Anime Roots With New Recreation of Misato's Iconic Car
Image
The Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise is most known for its iconic mecha, but these aren't the only rides in the series. Now, another notable vehicle from the series is joining a long-running line of toy cars, but it's no Eva unit.

The Tomica Premium Unlimited No. 08 Rebuild of Evangelion Alpine Renault A310 is based on Misato Katsuragi's car from the classic anime series. Tomica has released toys for several cars and vehicles from anime, and the legendary mecha franchise has now entered the garage. Ironically, despite its designation, the new toy is based on the first iteration of Evangelion and not the newest.

Former Production I.G USA President Launches GoFundMe Following $6000 Theft
Image
An anime industry veteran has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for her assisted living costs after losing $6,000 from theft. She was previously a part of the United States branch of Production I.G., the iconic Japanese animation studio behind works such as Flcl and Ghost in the Shell.

According to Anime News Network, Jan Scott-Frazier launched a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to help her cover the cost of assisted living after a robbery put her $6,000 in debt. The current price of her rent is $4,000. "I hate to beg, but here I am on my digital knees," Frazier said. "I live in assisted living, which is very expensive. I need round-the-clock nursing and staff support, or else I could live somewhere else cheaper. Unfortunately, I am in such bad shape. I can't even get out of the hospital right now. I've been trapped here for a month. I don't know when I'll get out,...

Why Funimation Never Dubbed Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0
Image
Rejoice, "Evangelion" fans of America, for you finally have a chance to see the saga's conclusion in a theater. After a one-night IMAX screening on November 30th, the film is playing during the week of December 6 in theaters across the U.S. These showings will exclusively show the subbed version of the film: Japanese audio, English subtitles. If you prefer your anime dubbed, you're out of luck.

This is the latest in a long line of hurdles dub watchers face in getting into "Evangelion." For starters, the "Rebuild" films which "Thrice Upon A Time" concludes have two English dubs — an incomplete one done by Funimation,...
