A member of the legendary Easy Company of the US Army's 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. After the jump into Normandy, the commanding officer of Easy Company could not be located and Winters became the commanding officer. First entered the war as a lieutenant, and left a year later as a major. He was portrayed by 'Damian Lewis' in the starring role of the mini-series "Band of Brothers" (2001).
