  • Was the first woman in history to appear on national television with a mohawk haircut.
  • Had a video game character named after her, "Wendy O. Koopa" in the video game, Super Mario Bros. 3 (1988).
  • Lead singer for the infamous 1980s punk rock band The Plasmatics.
  • Posthumously inducted in 2016 into the Music Hall of Fame in her native Rochester, New York.
  • Performed in the stage production of the Rocky Horror Show.
  • Once described herself as a "marginal nymphomaniac and terminal exhibitionist".
  • At the age of six she appeared tap-dancing on Puppet Playhouse (1947) as a member of the "Peanut Gallery".
  • Was a Grammy Award nominee for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, alongside Lita Ford and Pia Zadora (1982).
  • Graduated from Eastman School of Music.
