Tiger: HBO's Latest Doc Explores the Golf Legend's High School Relationship - Who Is She?
Image
We can't stop watching the new HBO documentary Tiger, which outlines Tiger Woods's rise to fame and the ups and downs of his success - from reaching near perfection in the game to battling his demons outside of the course. Interviews with Woods's high school sweetheart Dina Gravell-Parr play an integral part in the documentary's analysis, bringing in firsthand information about who Woods was as a teenager and how that might have led to who he is today. It's no secret that Woods has a fraught relationship with his father, Earl, who propelled him to success while also inhibiting him from having a "normal" life, but Dina's comments further cement the kind of pressure Woods has felt throughout his entire life.

HBO's doc includes interviews from various people once close to the golfing giant - his former mistress Rachel Uchitel, his longtime caddy and best man Steve Williams, and even his kindergarten teacher,...

Golf Channel Readies May 24 Debut for ‘Tiger Slam’ Documentary
Image
Could ESPN’s “Last Dance” be just the first salvo in a series of ambitious sports documentary efforts?

Golf Channel plans to debut “Tiger Slam,” a documentary film from the NBCUniversal-owned outlet’s own Golf Films unit, on May 24 at 8 p.m. The project examines Tiger Woods’ 10-month stretch of wins in 2000 and 2001, when the legendary golfer captured the sport’s four major championships in succession. The film, narrated by actor Michael Kenneth Williams, includes comments and perspective from caddie Steve Williams and swing instructor Butch Harmon, as well as recollections from various sports personalities who witnessed Woods’ incredible run.

“Tiger Slam” debuts a week after the conclusion as “Last Dance,” a much-celebrated ten-part docu-series centered around Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, and on the same day as Turner Sports’ telecast of “The Match,” a golf game between Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, a move...

Tiger Woods' Former Caddy Steve Williams in New Memoir: "It Was Like I Was His Slave"
Tiger Woods
Fore! Tiger Woods' former caddy Steve Williams claims in his new memoir, Out of The Rough, that his former boss treated him poorly during their 12 years together on the green -- and during Woods' high-profile sex scandal in 2009. Williams, 51, served as Woods' caddy at the height of the golf pro's career from 1999 to 2011, and was fired over the phone. New Zealand's Stuff magazine excerpted several lengthy excerpts from the tome, which includes some damning behind-the-scenes scoops about Woods. "One thing that really pissed me [...]...

Masters 2013: Adam Scott Wins To Make History
Adam Scott won the second hole play-off against Angel Cabrera to become the first Australian ever to win the Masters. After his Open heartbreak Scott showed no sign of nerves, sinking pressurised putts on the eighteenth twice, once in his final round and once in the play-off, to win his maiden Major.

The 32-year-old Adelaide-born winner was playing his 48th Major, but in recent times has turned potential into reality and become one of the leading contenders for the biggest competitions. With former Tiger Woods caddie Steve Williams on his bag, Scott shot a nine under par score, including a birdie on the last, to become the clubhouse leader if only for a few minutes.

Scott found himself in a play-off because former champion Cabrera produced a delightful approach shot on the final hole to within four feet of the hole, sealing the birdie and a shoot out with Scott.

2011 PGA Championship TV coverage schedule
The 2011 PGA Championship kicks off Thursday, Aug. 11 from the Highlands Course at the Atlantic Athletic Club. It is the first major tournament for Tiger Woods since the Masters back in April, where he finished tied for fourth place. He needs to finish no worse than tied for 14th at the PGA Championship in order to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs, which payout $10 million to the winner.

Woods recently fired his long-time caddy Steve Williams after 13 years of partnering together for tournaments. Williams took up with Adam Scott (they're pictured above) and commented after Scott's win at the 2011 Bridgestone Invitational that it was "that's the best win [he's] ever had." He later apologized for the remarks.

Tiger is not amongst the experts' picks at Espn. They've given the nod to Scott, Jason Day and Lee Westwood, who finished tied for third at the U.S Open in 2011.

Tiger Woods: Masters Optimism
Getting back into the swing of things, Tiger Woods believes he has a good chance of winning the Masters Tournament.

Of the optimistic mindset, caddie Steve Williams said, "Tiger doesn't play in golf tournaments unless he believes he can win. Tiger's key strength, as we all know, is his mental strength and he is going to need it all through this period."

Woods will be back in pro golf on April 8, after dealing with a nasty sex scandal that has hurt not only friends and family, but his career.

Woods' Caddy Angry Over Affairs
Tiger Woods
Shamed golfer Tiger Woods has come under fire again for his string of infidelities - from his own caddy.

The world's number one golf player's career and image were rocked last year when news of his numerous affairs hit the headlines.

He went into hiding after a public backlash that saw him lose several lucrative advertising deals. He entered a rehab facility for sexual addiction therapy before apologising to his family, friends and colleagues in a press conference last month.

But Woods' caddy Steve Williams - who has worked with the star since 1999 - is fuming with the 34 year old, and is adamant he would have exposed Woods if he had been privy to the affairs.

Williams tells New Zealand network TV3, "I'm a straight-up sort of person. If I had known something was going on, the whistle would have been blown.

"Of course I'm mad at him, why would you not be? I'm close with his wife and he's got two lovely children and he's let them down."

But Williams insists he will stick by Woods as he tries to rebuild his life: "When a guy's having a tough time, it's not up to me to beat him with a stick right now. He's getting enough grilling from everybody else. Tiger's one of my closest friends and he needs my support right now and I'd never think of walking away."...

I'm close with his wife, and he's got two lovely children, and he's let them down." The 46-year-old New Zealander maintains he know nothing about the golf great's affairs, but he says he sees why some people might have trouble believing that: "If the shoe was on somebody else, I would say the same thing -- that it would be very difficult for the caddie not to know,...

Tiger Woods’ Caddie Admits: “Tiger Has Got A Problem”
Do you believe Tiger’s caddie didn’t know about his affairs?

In an intriguing new interview, Tiger Woods‘ caddie Steve Williams is finally speaking about the scandal — and he wants to make it clear he knew nothing about it! “Obviously, I understand Tiger has got a problem,” he tells New Zealand’s Sunday News. “What people fail to realize is I [just] work for Tiger Woods. … When he is not competing, I am back in New Zealand. I have no knowledge of what he is doing.”

Williams says the media frenzy surrounding the scandal has affected his own family life more than people know, and he was especially irked that Espn columnist Rick Reilly blatantly suggested that Williams was helping Tiger cover up his indiscretions.

“[Woods] needs to clean house,” Reilly said in one column. “If he wants to keep his wife, he has to get a new agent, a new caddie and some new friends.
