Iconic Breaking Bad House Goes Up for Sale (But You'll Need Heisenberg Money to Afford It)
Image
The famous Albuquerque home that was used to represent Walter White's house in Breaking Bad is now up for sale. Potential buyers should be forewarned, however, that owning the home will come with a risk of getting pizzas thrown onto the roof.

Per Kob 4 in New Mexico, the Breaking Bad house has hit the market more than a decade after the original series ended its run. The house was made famous when it was used as the home for the White family in the show, but the owners hadn't foreseen just how iconic it would become when they first agreed to let the TV film there. At first, the family members living there welcomed fans who stopped by to take pictures at the house, but as the popularity of Breaking Bad grew, it became excessive.

10 Shows Like Sons of Anarchy With No Redeemable Characters
Image
Sons of Anarchy features many characters who are both fan favorites but also irredeemable. Set in a world of crime and chaos, bad situations lead to even worse choices. Before anyone realizes, things are too far gone to be saved.

Shows with no redeemable characters have their own charm. They tend to tackle dark and forbidden topics like revenge, cannibalism and war. Many shows have irredeemable characters like Jax. They may have done one really bad thing, or they have done several over the course of the entire series. From House of the Dragon to Yellowjackets to Breaking Bad, these pitch-black and morally grey characters have caused fans to think about the damning choices they made.

Walter White Is Far Gone in Breaking Bad

As Breaking Bad's protagonist, Walter White is a sympathetic character, similar to Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy. However, throughout the course of the crime series,...

Actors Who Will Always Be Remembered For One Character
Image
Your browser does not support the video tag.

Cinema has long been one of the best mediums for storytelling, with a range of dynamic and talented actors helping bring to life these stories. While all major actors turn in memorable careers that span numerous roles, some actors leave an indelible mark on a particular character. Although these actors can have other iconic characters under their belt, there's no denying that a role becomes almost synonymous with their performer.

Although Hollywood doesn't always stick the landing with some castings, others are so strong that it can be difficult to imagine anyone else in the role. This similarly applies to TV, where actors will spend years playing the same character as the two progressively blend into one person. Indeed, some characters are so inseparable from their actors that it's almost impossible to recast without angering fans or failing to live up to expectations.

Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston Makes Surprise Return as Walter White in Anti-Littering PSA
Image
Heisenberg has returned with a special message for anyone thinking about littering. Bryan Cranston has appeared in a public service ad campaign as his Breaking Bad character to discourage people from littering in the state of New Mexico.

Per the NY Post, the new ads featuring Cranston were first unveiled in an arthouse movie theater in Santa Fe. The PSA is called "Breaking Bad Habits," and it features Cranston's Walter White rolling a barrel through the New Mexico desert, similar to how he'd done so in a memorable Breaking Bad scene. In the PSA, however, Walter is revealed to be collecting trash from the ground left behind by careless litterbugs. Squashing a paper cup from Los Polos Hermanos, the drug kingpin warns, "Keep litter out of my territory." The ad spot, shared online by New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, can be watched below.

10 TV Characters The Shows Didnt Know What To Do With
Image
Sometimes, TV shows introduce characters who seem fundamental to the story, but it becomes clear that the writers aren't sure what to do with them after their initial storyline. The result is often that the TV show will repeat the same story many times, focusing on one character. Maybe said character will eventually be written out of the show when the actor or writers have had enough, but they may be needed for one particular future storyline.

Some TV show love interests that were suddenly dropped and great female TV characters that deserved better ended up in these circumstances because creativity had run out concerning their arcs. Great TV shows should effectively use all their characters, at least providing a reason for them to be shelved for a while if screen time is limited. However, it is hard to feel like some shows did not waste characters when they are...

Year of the Dragon: Revisiting Korean Kaiju Movie ‘Dragon Wars: D-War’
Image
Looking through Shim Hyung-rae’s small oeuvre, it would only make sense for the South Korean comedian-turned-filmmaker to create a movie like Dragon Wars: D-War. As early as 1993, Shim was playing with monsters; his directorial debut, Young-Goo and Dinosaur Zu-Zu, is derivative of Gorgo, Mothra and the like. Shim returned soon after with more monster mayhem in two other obscurities: Tyranno’s Claws and Dragon Tukka. His big break then came in 1999 with the high-budget remake of 1967’s Yongary, Monster from the Deep. As exciting as the opportunity was, Shim ultimately experienced unforeseen hardship after directing what was, at the time, the most expensive Korean-produced movie.

Yonggary, or Reptilian in the West, led to a challenging period for Shim. This ‘99 movie could have easily been the end of his career. Strangely, though, it was not the critical derision that caused Shim’s personal crisis. On the contrary, a shady distribution...

Sons Of Anarchy: Why Jax Was Killed Off In The Series Finale
Image
Jax Teller's suicide was the perfect end to his character arc in Sons of Anarchy, as it symbolized the tragic nature of the show and the desire to end the Teller lineage associated with the outlaw life. Jax's decision to kill himself was influenced by the death of his wife Tara, which triggered a series of events that led him to prioritize revenge and ultimately caused the downfall of the club. Kurt Sutter's spinoff show, Mayans Mc, honors Jax Teller's character through references and tributes, proving that his impact on the Sons of Anarchy universe has persisted despite his death in the original series.

After many ups and downs in the club and various personal tragedies, the series finale of Sons of Anarchy saw Jax Teller's death, but many fans are still wondering why Jax killed himself. In 2008, viewers were taken to a small town in California to meet...

Sin and Damnation – How Scott Derrickson’s Underrated ‘Hellraiser: Inferno’ Rises Above Expectations
Image
At the recent Silver Scream Con, I was surprised to hear Hellraiser star Doug Bradley remark, “The only one in the series I feel doesn’t work is Inferno, for various reasons.” I had always considered the 2000 effort one of the franchise’s stronger offerings, but it had been a while since I revisited the series, so I thought it may not hold up as well as I remembered.

As I’m working my way through the series ahead of David Bruckner‘s reboot, which drops October 7 on Hulu, I can confirm my support for the fifth installment. I have no doubt that Bradley has his reasons for disliking the film – it being the first installment to be released straight to video no doubt required adjustments, not to mention his minuscule screen time as Pinhead – but, even with its shortcomings, I think Hellraiser: Inferno is better than he gives it credit for.

‘Lake Tomahawk’ DVD Review
Stars: Brando Eaton, Eileen Dietz, Peter O’Brien, Caroline Tudor, Brad Schmidt, Laura Niemi, Michael Shamus Wiles | Written by Stevie Jane Miller | Directed by Ben Milliken

Originally titled Lake Alice, this unassuming horror film is actually the latest in a long line of seasonal slashers set at that most festive of times… Christmas.

Lake Tomahawk – from former actor turned director Ben Milliken (Newcastle, Blue Crush 2) – follows Ryan Emerson (Schmidt) who, while meeting his girlfriend Sarah’s (Tudor) family for the first time, must prove his intentions and win the approval of her father, Greg (O’Brien), while he masks his jealousy for Sarah’s ex-fling, Tyler (Eaton). As the Thomas family settles in, things start to happen around the cabin; strange footprints by the windows, noises from outside, and a bitter animosity from the locals, including the law enforcement. As a blizzard descends on Lake Alice so does the evil…...

[Fantasia Review] Let Me Make You a Martyr
There’s a lot more to Corey Asraf and John Swab‘s debut feature Let Me Make You a Martyr than meets the eye. It looks like your run-of-the-mill revenge thriller with its prodigal son (Niko Nicotera‘s Drew Glass) returning home after an extended stay away to right the wrongs of the past. His adoptive father Larry (Mark Boone Junior) is a drug supplier, sex trade entrepreneur, and who knows what other heinous crimes that set up whatever unknown incident happened to fracture their relationship—something neither can come back from without the other being dead. But before Drew can set things straight and escape this Oklahoma town for good, he must also find his adopted sister and one true love June (Sam Quartin). Without her the rest is meaningless.

We infer it was systemic abuse and exploitation that turned Drew against his father. Why else would a guy...

Marilyn Manson is best known as the frontman of the Marilyn Manson band, whose music garnered much controversy from politicians and the public for their nihilistic lyrics, graphic imagery, and provocative statements. Manson got tied up in the aftermath of the deadly Columbine shooting when he was blamed by politicians and the media for inciting the violence with his music. Manson has appeared in many films including David Lynch’s “Lost Highway,” Michael Moore’s “Bowling For Columbine,” in which he discussed the media’s interest in scapegoating rather than focusing on broader societal issues, and a recurring role on FX’s “Sons of Anarchy.”

Mark Boone Junior is best known for his role on “Sons of Anarchy,” along with his performances in Christopher Nolan’s “Memento” and “Batman Begins,” Terrence Malick’s “The Thin Red Line,” and David Fincher’s “Seven.” He will soon appear in Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation,” about Nat Turner, the leader of a slave rebellion in Southampton County, Virginia in 1831.

“Let Me Make You a Martyr” will premiere at Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal next month. Manson will be in attendance.

Each week in EW's Sons of Anarchy recaps, we do polls asking viewers to weigh in on what's to come. After the last episode in which Jax (Charlie Hunnam) finally learned that his mother, Gemma (Katey Sagal), murdered his wife, Tara (Maggie Siff)—and that Sons of Anarchy Indian Hills charter president Jury (Michael Shamus Wiles), who Jax had killed, wasn't actually the rat—a reckoning is coming for both mother and son. And let's not forget about Juice (Theo Rossi), who killed Henry Lin (Kenneth Choi), told Jax the truth about his role in Gemma's cover-up, and has just...

Are you able to breathe yet?! So much s--t went down on tonight's extra-long outing of Sons of Anarchy that it took us a while to realize that absolutely none of the big players died during the entire 73-minute-long episode. That's right, the only death during "Suits of Woe" was Henry Lin (Kenneth Choi), who was chained up in a boiler room in prison for Juice (Theo Rossi) to kill—after he recorded Lin's confession that it was Barosky (Peter Weller), and not Soa Indian Hills president Jury White (Michael Shamus Wiles), who sold out the club's gun stash to the Chinese. And with that final hit completed, Juice was oddly calm and ready to face his own impending death now that he was...

'Sons Of Anarchy' Recap: August Marks Kills Bobby, Ends Up Behind Bars
Sons of Anarchy, "What a Piece of Work is Man,” begins with Jax (Charlie Hunnam) steeling himself for an inevitable confrontation with the Indian Hills after killing Jury, and his ongoing dealings with August Marks (Billy Brown).

Sons of Anarchy Recap

Upon learning that Bobby (Mark Boone Junior) was further mutilated after he didn’t give Marks everything he wanted, Jax needs to rethink how he’s going to deal with him. Jax reasons that he can use the compromising video of the pastor as blackmail against Marks. Grant (Arjay Smith) points out to Jax that his previous blackmail plan hadn’t worked out so well. In fact, hardly any of Jax’s plans have gone all that well lately.

When Tyler (Mo McRae) shows up, Jax asks him to set up a meeting with Marks or Moses (Mathew St. Patrick) to show them he’s ready to give them...

'Sons Of Anarchy' Recap: Samcro Tries To Get Bobby Back; Abel Reacts To Gemma's 'Accident'
Sons of Anarchy “The Separation of Crows” finds Samcro scrambling to clean up the mess that landed Bobby (Mark Boone Junior) in the hands of August Marks' (Billy Brown) men.

Sons of Anarchy Recap

Finally, Jax (Charlie Hunnam) seems to be realizing that he’s no match for the ruthless August Marks. More than his lack of manpower and smarts is the fact that he cares about his men and his family; he has things to lose. Surprisingly, instead of being relieved that Jax is over his scheme, Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) encourages him to stick with the plan.

Finding Bobby is Samcro’s first order of business. In order to get Bobby back, Tyler (Mo McRae) says Marks wants the pastor’s body and to know where his wife and stepson are. Every 24 hours that they hold out, Bobby will lose a body part. Unfortuantely, Tyler’s guys can’t find Bobby,...

The Lords of Salem - Exclusive Interview with Cinematographer Brandon Trost
At age 31, Cinematographer Brandon Trost is still considered a youngster in a racket that consists mostly of older men with flowing gray hair and/or unkempt artistic temperaments.

With over 70 titles on IMDb, the young cinematographer has paid more than his share of dues, working on gonzo film sets with gonzo talent (Crank: High Voltage, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance). On each film, or at least once he climbed out of the indie trenches with the Crank sequel, Trost has added his own distinctive look to each film he has touched, regardless of the quality of source material. With the upcoming Townies and This Is the End, Trost is quickly becoming the go-to guy in Hollywood for cream of the crop talent in multiple genres, forging lasting friendships with directors and actors alike.
