David Wickes is one of the UK's foremost producer/directors of
international television drama. He has also made several successful
theatrical feature films.
His credits include the Turner Pictures blockbuster Frankenstein (1992) starring Patrick Bergin, Randy Quaid, and the late Sir John Mills, which broke records for TNT and received 3 ACE nominations and 1 ACE Award.
Wickes is best known for his top-rated American Network TV films, such as the CBS miniseries Jack l'éventreur (1988) starring Sir Michael Caine and Jane Seymour (2 Golden Globe nominations, 1 Golden Globe award), and ABC's acclaimed Jekyll et Hyde (1990) which also starred Caine.
Wickes' series of 12 Raymond Chandler classics Philip Marlowe, détective privé (1983) made for HBO and starring Powers Boothe, won huge audiences worldwide and a clutch of ACE awards.
