Åke Whilney was a Swedish journalist, screenwriter, actor and TV-host. He began his career as a foreign correspondent, interviewing among others, Martin Luther King and Fidel Castro. Although he has appeared in a number of feature films and television programs, his hosting of the television series "Fönster mot TV-världen/Window to the TV World" for eleven consecutive years made him a very well-known person in Sweden. Åke Whilney passed away during a holiday at the Canary Islands in 1985.
