The 1975 frontman came under fire for comments he made during an episode of the Adam Friedland Show podcast in February.

At one point in the podcast, Healy mentioned US rapper Ice Spice, whom he claimed he tried to message on Instagram.

Healy, Friedland and comedian Nick Mullen then appeared to confuse her heritage by referring to her as Inuit and Chinese, imitating and mocking the accents of each.

Mullen called the American rapper an “Inuit Spice Girl” and a “chubby Chinese lady” .

Adult Swim, the network behind the animated series, announced it was severing ties with Roiland earlier this year after it was reported that he was facing charges in connection with a 2020 incident.

Robert Smith, the frontman of The Cure, has announced that Ticketmaster will issue partial refunds to fans after complaints about excessive fees on the site.

The fees, in some cases, had more than doubled the price of a ticket to see the English rock band on their Songs of a Lost World tour.

“After further conversation, Ticketmaster have agreed with us that many of the fees being charged are unduly high, and as a gesture of goodwill have offered a $10 per ticket refund to all verified fan accounts for lowest ticket price transactions,” Smith tweeted on Thursday evening (16 March), all in capital letters.

“And a $5 per ticket refund to all verified fan accounts for all other ticket price transactions, for all Cure shows at all venues.

Justin Bieber has issued an update about his recovery following his Ramsay Hunt Syndrome diagnosis.

On Wednesday (15 March), the 29-year-old singer posted a video of himself on Instagram where he was seen moving both sides of his face after suffering from facial paralysis last year.

In June 2022, Bieber said he was suffering from “full paralysis” on one side of his face after revealing he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

Jamie Lee Curtis has shared a photo of her awards collection, prompting many raised eyebrows among fans.

The 64-year-old won her first Academy Award at the Oscars earlier this month, for her performance as IRS auditor Deirdre Beaubeidra in the comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All At Once. The movie won a total of seven Oscars, including Best Picture.

Curtis beat out fellow nominees Angela Bassett, Kerry Condon, Stephanie Hsu and Michelle Williams to take home the award for Best Supporting Actress.

On Wednesday (15 March), Curtis shared a photo of her updated trophy cabinet to Instagram.

Chet Hanks has hit back at Eric André, who recently accused him of “breaking” the crew during a guest appearance on his show.

The 39-year-old comic hosts The Eric André Show, an absurdist unscripted sketch programme that parodies late-night talk shows. It features interviews with celebrities and celebrity impersonators, interspersed with chaotic man-on-the-street-type segments.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, André recalled Hanks, the 32-year-old son of Hollywood icons Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, allegedly engaging in “dangerous” behaviour while on set of the Adult Swim series.

Shortly after the interview was published (on 14 March), Hanks responded to André, labelling him “emotionally disturbed”.

“Had no idea you were such a p***y,” Hanks wrote, tagging him in an Instagram Story.

Hanks then followed up with a subsequent video, sharing his side of the story.

Tom Cruise celebrated Sir Michael Caine’s 90th birthday in London days after skipping the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

Cruise was a surprise absentee from the 2023 Oscars even though Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for Best Picture.

The A-lister, who co-starred with Caine in 2002’s Austin Power comedy Goldmember, was pictured at the River Café event in the unlikely company of Denise Welch and David Walliams.

Welch shared a video on her Instagram on Wednesday (15 March) of her telling a dirty joke about Caine to the party’s guests.

The camera pans around to show Caine drinking a glass of red wine while Cruise is in hysterics.

The 1975 frontman Matty Healy appeared to do a Nazi salute on stage during a recent performance.

The band – behind hits such as “Robbers” and “It’s Not Living” – are currently on tour.

During one performance, video of which has circulated online, Healy, 33, appeared to perform a Nazi salute while marching on the spot.

He made the action during a performance of The 1975’s song “Love it If We Made It”, as he sang the lyrics: “Thank you, Kanye, very cool.”

Kanye West has found himself recently embroiled in controversy over a number of antisemitic remarks. He has consequently been dropped by French fashion house Balenciaga.

The Independent has contacted a representative of Healy’s for comment.

His actions have sparked controversy online, with fans of the band condemning the singer. Others, however, have claimed that he was being “satirical” and “mocking” West over the rapper’s antisemetic statements.

The inaugural Newcastle International Film Festival has revealed a line-up of more than 200 films, with the event set to run March 29 to April 1.
