NBC's Night Court revival continues tonight with a brand new episode, entitled "Two Peas on a Pod." Stephnie Weir guest stars as a podcast host seeking to drum up publicity for her show by destroying the reputation of public defender Dan Fielding (John Larroquette). “Night Court” is back in session for a reboot of the comedy series that first aired in 1984 for nine seasons. In this new take on the series, John Larroquette reprises his role as narcissistic prosecutor Dan Fielding, with Melissa Rauch (“The Big Bang Theory”) playing optimistic judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Judge Harry Stone (Harry Anderson).

“We’re obviously huge fans of the original, and it’s an incredible privilege to get to work in this world and tell stories with these characters,” the series’ executive producer, Dan Rubin, said. “But it’s also a challenge to keep this show its own thing and have it stand on its own two feet.”

NBC’s upcoming “Night Court” revival has set a new slate of guest stars including Melissa Villaseñor, Faith Ford, Pete Holmes, Kurt Fuller, Stephanie Weir, Lyric Lewis, Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski.

The news came during NBCUniversal’s presentation at the Television Critics Association’s winter 2023 press tour, where star and executive producer Melissa Rauch called “Night Court” a “newboot” of the original, which ran on NBC from 1984 to 1992 and starred Harry Anderson as judge Harry T. Stone.

Along with announcing the new guest stars, with character details yet to be announced, producers said during the “Night Court” panel that they would be open to bringing back Richard Moll and Marsha Warfield. Moll and Warfield are the only living cast members from the original series besides John Laroquette, who reprises his role in the revival.

The new “Night Court” follows the late Harry Stone’s daughter, the unapologetically optimistic judge Abby Stone.

Contestants will compete in a global adventure, featuring locations from the Bond films, to win a £1 million ($1.3 million) cash prize. Disney + Hotstar premium released the official trailer for the upcoming fantasy comedy 'Godmothered' on Thursday, featuring Isla Fisher as Mackenzie, a single mother, and reporter, alongside Jillian Bell as Eleanor, Mackenzie's fairy godmother.

CBS has canceled a quartet of shows.

Three of those, “Fam,” “Happy Together,” and “Murphy Brown,” will come to and end after only one season, while “Life In Pieces” will end after its fourth season, which is currently airing.

The “Life In Pieces” news comes only five episodes into season 4. So far, it is averaging a 0.84 rating in the key 18-49 demographic and 5.75 million viewers per episode, which represents a dip on last season which averaged a 1.11 rating and just under 6.5 million total viewers.

“Wild Honey” is the story of Gabby (Rusty Schwimmer), a 49 year-old who leaves her dead end relationship with Vince (Todd Stashwick) and moves back in with her mother (Paulette Cary). Unit production manager Kathleen McGill and associate director Mimi (Marian) Deaton have been selected as the recipients of the Directors Guild of America special awards for contributions to the guild.

The duo will be honored at the 71st Annual DGA Awards on Feb. 2 at the Hollywood & Highland Center’s Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood. McGill will receive the Frank Capra Achievement Award and Deaton will receive the Franklin J. Schaffner Achievement Award.

In their breakout TV roles, Damon Wayans Jr. (“Happy Endings”) and Amber Stevens West (“The Carmichael Show”) proved themselves to be perfect sitcom utility players. Happy Together tells the story of a famous pop star that ends up living with a suburban couple in an effort to live an ordinary life. It may be just a wacky concept for a sitcom, but for executive producer Ben Winston the story hits close to home…very close to home.

During the CBS session at TCA Sunday, Winston was joined on the stage by sitcom stars Felix Mallard, Damon Wayans Jr., and Amber Stevens West as well as executive producers Tim McAuliffe and Austen Earl. Winston shared his story about how One Direction band member Harry Styles lived in the attic of his London home. CBS unveiled its Fall 2018 TV schedule early Wednesday morning, which is packed with premieres for the Eye’s newly-ordered revivals and reboots, like “Murphy Brown” and “Magnum P.I.,” and longtime network hits, like “NCIS,” “Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon.”

While the new iteration of the ’80s detective drama is landing a Monday time slot, the return of Candice Bergen’s ’90s sitcom grabbed a spot on Thursday’s primetime block behind “Mom.”

Ahead of the Jay Hernandez-led “Magnum P.I.,” are new comedies “The Neighborhood” and “Happy Together” airing between 8-9 p.m. “Magnum” will drive in at 9 p.m. and be followed by “Bull,” moving over from its old spot on the following weeknight.

With Murphy Brown and Magnum P.I. as two of the six new series on the fall 2018 CBS schedule, it feels like a trip back to the 1980s at the network, which will feature five reboots next season.

“Stability where we are strong, change where we need it,” is how CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl described the strategy behind network’s schedule for next season. CBS’ biggest declines this season were on Monday — that’s where the biggest changes are, including shrinking the comedy block from two hours to one.

Here is CBS’ fall 2018-19 schedule, followed by scheduling information on some shows that are not on it, brief analysis, and detailed descriptions of the network’s new series.

There's only one direction and broadcast TV is always aiming for it. To that end, CBS has ordered a new, still untitled comedy multi-camera comedy series from Damon Wayans, Jr. Although it is not at all based in reality, the series was inspired by the period of time when executive producers Ben Winston and One Direction's Harry Styles lived together. CBS has given out its first series order from its pilot crop for the 2018-2019 season.

The broadcaster has ordered the multi-camera comedies “Welcome to the Neighborhood” and the untitled Damon Wayans Jr. project to series. Both projects are produced by CBS Television Studios.

“Welcome to the Neighborhood,” formerly “Here Comes the Neighborhood,” follows the nicest guy in the Midwest, who moves his family into a tough neighborhood in L.A. where not everyone appreciates his extreme neighborliness.

It stars Cedric The Entertainer, Josh Lawson, Sheaun McKinney, Tichina Arnold, Dreama Walker, Marcel Spears, Hank Greenspan.

Cedric will also executive produce along with Eric Rhone via their A Bird And A Bear Entertainment. Jim Reynolds serves as writer and executive producer. Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment, Dana Honor, and Wendi Trilling will also executive produce. James Burrows will executive produce and direct the pilot.

Cedric signed a development deal with CBS back in September.

CBS has locked down Damon Wayans Jr. and Cedric the Entertainer for the 2018-2019 TV season, granting series orders to a pair of comedy pilots starring the actors.

The “New Girl” alum’s project, a (still) untitled multi-cam series from writers Tim McAuliffe (“The Last Man on Earth”) and Austen Earl (“9JKL”) and singer Harry Styles and “The Late Late Show” exec producer Ben Winston. The sitcom focuses on a 30-something couple tired of their mundane life, who start to reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when an emerging pop star, who is drawn to their super normal suburban life, moves in.

Wayans will play Peter, a good guy with a sense of humor, who is happily married to his dream wife, Claire (Amber Stevens). He is an accountant and the business manager of young superstar musician, Cooper (Felix Mallard), who comes to live with them.

CBS has kicked off its pilot-to-series orders with nods to two multi-camera comedies, Welcome to the Neighborhood, starring Cedric the Entertainer, and Untitled Damon Wayans Jr. project (fka Untitled Austen Earl/Tim McAuliffe), Both sitcoms come from CBS sibling CBS TV Studios. And if CBS is sticking to its playbook of picking up fall shows first, these would be the two new comedies the network would introduce next fall, possibly alongside the straight-to-series Murphy Brown revival.

The untitled Damon Wayans Jr. project is executive produced by The Late Late Show with James Corden Ep Ben Winston and is inspired by a time when he and pop star Harry Styles lived together. While the One Direction alum was not formally attached in the pilot stage, he will now serve as an executive producer on the series, which is not based on real life experiences or characters.

Exclusive: YouTube Red has ordered a pilot for High & Tight, a baseball buddy comedy starring Sung Kang and Danny Pudi. Co-starring in the pilot, created and written by Chris Marrs, are Virginia Williams (Fuller House) as well as Bruce McGill (Family Guy) and Mircea Monroe (Episodes).

High & Tight is set in the high-stakes and high-status world of Major League Baseball and is about a young translator (Pudi) forced far beyond his comfort zone when he’s hired as the full-time interpreter-slash-babysitter for L.A.’s newly signed and ill-behaved star Korean outfielder, Ho Rang’s (Kang). Bad boys, bad boys: TBS has picked up 10 episodes of Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks’ new animated comedy “The Cops,” which had previously been set up at FX.

Louis C.K. and Brooks will voice the show’s lead characters, “Lou” and “Al,” two Los Angeles patrolmen “trying their best to protect and serve, sometimes failing at both. Ride with them as they patrol one of the biggest cities in the world, then go home with them and be glad you’re not married to either.”

The show will premiere in 2018; the two will also executive produce along with Greg Daniels, Dino Stamatopoulos, Dave Becky and Howard Klein.
