Wedge began his career as an effects artist for films such as Tron (1982). In February, 1987, he founded Blue Sky Studios, along with Carl Ludwig, Dr. Eugene Troubetzkoy, Alison Brown, David Brown and Michael Ferraro. Quotes

  • For me, part of the fascination with making animation is you go to a place; it's a complete immersion in someone else's fantasy.
  • You win the Oscar, you get to go into just about anybody's office for a month. I had a lot of meetings.
  • [on 'Ice Age'] What made Ice Age work is that it had its shiny candy coatings, but inside was a soft, creamy center.
  • [Voice acting for Scrat in 'Ice Age'] The Scrat sounds, I don't know, they just came out of me naturally that day. I think they just caught me on one of those days, that I'm sure everybody has, where, you know, you're working really hard and maybe nothings working out, you know.
  • [Casting Ray Romano as Manny in 'Ice Age'] Ray's voice is kind of deep and his delivery is kind of slow, but he's also got a sarcastic wit behind it.
