Helene Weigel was born on 12 May 1900 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. She was an actress, known for Mère Courage et ses enfants (1961), Mère Courage (1955) and Les fusils de la mère Carrar (1953). She was married to Bertolt Brecht. She died on 6 May 1971 in East Berlin, East Germany.
