Following the death of Oj Simpson this week, veteran TV presenter and comedienne Ruby Wax has written about the time she spent interviewing the footballing legend turned pariah for her BBC chat show.

Back in 1998, Wax travelled to Los Angeles where she spent 17 hours with Simpson. Writing in The Times of London this weekend, she says the moment he re-enacted his alleged killings of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman – for which he went through “the trial of the century” before being acquitted in 1995 – wasn’t even the weirdest part of the day.

Wax writes:

“After a manic 17 hours’ filming, I asked him for the final time whether he was involved in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. I was sure we could get him to confess. But he simply turned to the camera, said “no” and gave a rueful smile.

Jacket Potato, Rubbish and Piece of Cake ended up in the bottom three, with the judges left to decide who to vote out.

The judges first decided to save Rubbish, following his performance of “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams.

Jacket Potato was next to be saved, after singing “Viva Las Vegas” by Elvis Presley.

The Masked Singer UK has returned for a fourth season.

The eccentric ITV reality series sees celebrity contestants don elaborate identity-obscuring costumes to perform musical numbers.

Viewers at home and a panel of judges, comprising Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, and Davina McCall, must then guess the contestants’ identities using cryptic clues.

At the end of each episode, one contestant is eliminated from the show and unmasked. During the first week, footballer Chris Kamara became the first contestant to be eliminated, who was dressed as Ghost.

Among the other personas featured on this year’s series are Phoenix, Knitting, Jellyfish, Rubbish, Jacket Potato, and Piece of Cake.

Before Batman, Bond, and seemingly everything else got the gritty reboot treatment in the early 2000s, Hollywood tried a similar thing with none other than Robin Hood. Mel B is getting married! In a Friday appearance on the U.K. talk show, “Celebrity Gogglebox”, the 47-year-old Spice Girls star revealed that her boyfriend of three years, hairstylist Rory McPhee, popped the question.

Mel B, whose full name is Melanie Brown, divulged the details of the romantic moment after comedian Ruby Wax asked her about the recent engagement.

“He said, ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,'” “The Masked: Singer Australia” judge said of the proposal, which happened while she and McPhee were on vacation in Berskhire.

She continued, “There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers.”

McPhee, 36, who worked with Brown on this season of the singing competition series, often posts the hairstyles he gives his now-fiancée on his Instagram account.

British-American documentary maker Louis Theroux is the latest high-profile name to be added to the Edinburgh International TV Festival.

Theroux, who broke through on Michael Moore’s NBC/BBC series TV Nation and made My Scientology Movie, will discuss his career in non-fiction filmmaking at the TV fest, which runs August 21-23 in Scotland.

He will be interviewed by How To Look Good Naked presenter Dawn O’Porter in the session titled When Dawn Met Louis… in homage to Theroux’s long-running series of interviews on the BBC. The British actor-director revealed stories from Die Hard, Harry Potter, Robin Hood and his latest film, A Little Chaos.

Alan Rickman entertained a select audience in London last night with stories from nearly 30 years in movies.

Speaking on stage at the latest BAFTA: A Life In Pictures event, the actor-director revealed how his first exposure to film was at school with titles like Ealing comedy The Titfield Thunderbolt, before going to art school and encountering his first major influences: Antonioni and Fellini.

“But I don’t know that I thought this would be part of my life,” he recalled. “To be perfectly honest, having a film career at all is a bit of a surprise.”

After going to Rada at 25, Rickman established himself on stage and TV, and didn’t star in his first film until his early 40s. That film just happened to be the blockbuster action hit Die Hard.

Rik Mayall and David Mitchell are among the stars who feature in an exclusive picture from Crackanory series two.

The part live-action, part-animated Dave show sees celebrities narrating adult versions of bedtime stories in the style of the children's classic Jackanory, which first came to TV screens in 1965.

Vic Reeves, Sue Perkins, Katherine Parkinson, Meera Syal, Warwick Davies, Ben Miller, Johnny Vegas, Ruby Wax, Emilia Fox and Simon Callow will also appear in the new series.

Late comic actor Mayall will appear reading The Weatherman by Tony Way, which will be screened on Wednesday, September 24 at 10pm.

Mayall's episode - which will also feature Vic Reeves - will get a BAFTA preview screening on September 16.
