Chris Weatherhead was born in California, and raised in Balboa and Newport Beach, California. She sang in a trio with her sisters Penny and Janine for several years, performing in Orange County. As a nine-year-old, she lived in Tokyo, Japan, for a summer learning Japanese art, culture and dance. Her father, Lee DeWolf Weatherhead, was a WWII hero who flew secret missions in the Pacific. Chris trained with Brewster Mason of the Royal Shakespeare Company at UC Irvine and while living in London. She trained in New York, with Michael Shurtleff and Warren Robertson. She became a leading lady in American theatre in 1971 at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Fransisco and married actor, Richard Council. In 1985, Chris moved to Los Angeles, where she married actor, Clarence Felder, and guest starred in numerous episodic prime-time TV series and independent film projects in LA. In between acting jobs in Hollywood, Chris wrote and produced recruitment films and Public Service Announcements for Match-Two Prisoner Outreach for seven years. She was in the program as a volunteer and interviewed other volunteers and former inmates. She hosted a radio show interviewing people involved with prison rehabilitation. Chris and husband, Clarence, moved to South Carolina in 1995. Soon after, she directed, co-wrote, and co-starred as Catherine Felder in the Revolutionary War, action-adventure docudrama, "All For Liberty", with Felder, Rob Gorman, Michael Easler, David Reed and Trevor Erickson. The film has won 9 international film awards and is in world distribution with Bridgestone Multimedia Group. She's the author of the historical novel, "Against the Wind, the Rise of Kamehameha The Great," (Amazon) based on her award-winning screenplay,"Kumakani," set in 18th century Hawaii. Chris won a top Remi Award at WorldFest Houston 2013, for the screenplay. In 2016, Chris directed and produced "John Laurens' War" and "Frederick Douglass, No Turning Back" in 2017, "Light for Your Journey," and "Echoes of Glory: Heroes from the American Revolution" in 2020, "John at Patmos, An Allegory" in 2021 and "The Final Trials of Anne Hutchinson" in 2022.
