Sofia W.D. was born on 12 October 1924 in Bandoeng, Preanger, Dutch East Indies [now Bandung, West Java, Indonesia]. She was an actress and director, known for Badai Selatan (1961), Melawan badai (1974) and Singa Betina dari Marunda (1971). She was married to W.D. Mochtar. She died on 23 July 1986 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
