  • Inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
  • Her songs were recorded by generations of celebrities, beginning with Bing Crosby in 1942. During a trip to Hollywood with her father, she sang one of her compositions for Larry Crosby, who asked her to return the next day so that Bing could hear it. He decided to record the song, "Lone Star Trail". Other hits she wrote include "You Don't Know Me", "Dream Baby", and the Gene Autry hit, "Silver Spurs".
  • Willie Nelson released an album of her work in March 2006.
  • Retired in Mexia, Texas
