- Hilde von Stolz was born on July 8, 1903 in Schäßburg/Segesvár, Hungary, Austria-Hungary [now Sighisoara, Romania]. She was an actress, known for Castelli in aria (1939), Mascarade (1934) and Mädchen in Weiß (1936). She died on December 16, 1973 in West Berlin, West Germany.

An officer's daughter, she was trained for acting at the Max-Reinhardt-Seminar in Vienna and made her screen debut as 'Helen Steels' in 1928. Often cast as ingénues, coquettish courtesans, dancers or actresses.
- She made her film debut in the silent movie era with "Don Juan in der Mädchenschule" (1928) and used the pseudonym Helen Steels at the beginning of her career (till 1933).
