Toy Story 3 Showed One Character's Fate In An Easter Egg You May Have Missed
Image
There aren't too many perfect movie trilogies in the history of cinema. Personally, I think Sergio Leone's epic Dollar Trilogy is the epitome, alongside the first three Matt Damon-led Bourne films, and I'm sure many would argue that both Peter Jackson's legendary "The Lord of the Rings" movies and the original "Star Wars" trilogy belong in the category, too. Similarly, although the franchise eventually continued on after their release à la "Bourne," Pixar's first three "Toy Story" films are about as superb as it gets. Indeed, the "Toy Story" property always managed to keep improving and becoming a little better over the course of its first 15 years. That's an achievement not many trilogies can wholeheartedly claim.

The fact these flicks are actually animated features mainly aimed at kids — though we all know it's the adults/parents who cry the most watching them, myself included — somehow makes their accomplishment even greater.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Teaser Features A New Look At Bearded Thing; Official Rating Revealed
Image
The Marvel Studios TikTok page has shared a new teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and while it's only around 15 seconds long, it does feature a few news shots from the movie.

In addition to Johnny Storm telling his teammates that it's "time to save the planet" (surely another it's clobberin' time gag?), we see Reed Richards asking the others to trust him... a plan which Johnny and Ben Grimm aren't fully on board with (the way this is edited suggests that it might be footage/dialogue from two different scenes).

We also get another quick glimpse of The Thing rocking a beard, which is a look from the comics fans were not expecting to see in this film. There's speculation that this could signify a time-jump, but we don't know for certain.

In not-at-all surprising news, First Steps has been given an official MPA rating of PG-13 for “action/violence and some language.

Why ‘The Bear’ Is This Generation’s Breaking Bad (But for the Restaurant Industry)
Image
They say the heat will either break you or forge you into something new. But what if it does both? If Breaking Bad showed us a transformation so terrifying of a man pushed to an extreme, The Bear pulled back the generation’s spine-chilling story of a man juggling through the busy restaurant.

For a chemistry teacher turned drug-lord and a fine-dining chef running an Italian beef sandwich shop, it is a great deal. Both being equally intense, heartfelt yet chaotic, have defined generations like no other, drawing viewers into deep-rooted realities of their worlds.

This generation’s Breaking Bad? Meet The Bear

The core theme of the series itself sets the tone. Both Breaking Bad and The Bear point towards transformation, destruction, perfection, and control in a high-pressure, tight environment, leading to the main leads or protagonists questioning everything around them.

‘The Bear’ Crewmember Breaks Silence On Crucial Season 4 Character: Carmy’s Hair
Image
Spoiler Alert! This story contains privileged information about the proper care and maintenance of Jeremy Allen White’s coiled locks on The Bear.

One of the standout lines from season 4 of The Bear is when Ayo Edebiri’s Sydney exclaims that it’s time to address “the f—ing elephant in the f—ing restaurant.” She’s talking about the emotional baggage of her boss, but we’d like to think she was referring to something far more consequential to the success of their fictitious restaurant and the FX comedy as a whole: Jeremy Allen White’s head of hair.

Carmy’s coiff has developed into its own unique character inside The Bear’s kitchen, due in no small part to the commitment of hair department head Ally Vickers, who’s paid to control the chaos that is Allen’s curly coiffure.

“I have put it on a journey,” Vickers tells Deadline.

Josh Hartnett's Netflix thriller series adds Stranger Things and Black Mirror stars
Image
Netflix is reeling in an impressive lineup for its upcoming untitled limited series starring Josh Hartnett. Two new cast additions have been announced, and you might recognize these talented actors from other popular Netflix shows such as Stranger Things and Black Mirror.

In February 2025, Netflix gave the green light to a six-episode limited series from Jesse McKeown. Set and filmed in Newfoundland, Canada, the project has McKeown attached as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. The writing team also includes Karen Walton, Perry Chafe, and Natty Zavitz, while directing duties will be handled by Jamie Childs, Helen Shaver, and Stephen Dunn.

Other executive producers are Hartnett, Childs, Chris Hatcher, Sharon Hall, Jessica Rhoades, and Louise Sutton. In May 2025, Hartnett was confirmed for the series' lead role as a rugged fisherman determined to protect his family, community, and way of life when a terrifying sea creature begins terrorizing his small Newfoundland town.

Jeremy Allen White, 34, Responds to the Viral 'The Bear' Meme
Image
When Season 1 of The Bear premiered, you may remember that it was a bit of a grassroots campaign to get fans to watch the series. The FX show was not the hit it is today right out the gate. One of the reasons that fans tuned in was because of word of mouth online, mainly using pictures of star Jeremy Allen Whitefrom the series to get them interested in the show. One of those tweets was shown to White during a recent trip to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when host Jimmy Fallonwas doing a segment on Season 4 of the hit show.

The tweet in question came from journalist Alex Zaragoza. In 2023, she posted "I'm too scared to watch The Bear because I’m actively in therapy to stop falling in love with men who look like this," on social media. It included a picture of White as Carmen...

‘The Bear’ Season 4 Episode 10 Review and Ending Explained: Carmy Makes a New Agreement and the Disagreements That Follow
Image
The Bear Season 4 Episode 10 delivers a finale that’s far from what fans expected. After Episode 9 ended with New Noise by Refused, many thought we were in for chaos, high-stakes kitchen tension, and the explosive energy that defined earlier seasons. Instead, the show chooses a quieter, more focused path. This final episode strips things down to just three key characters: Carmy, Sydney, and Richie, tucked away at the back of the restaurant.

While it answers one of the season’s biggest questions, it leaves several storylines hanging in the air. That could mean more seasons are on the way—or maybe the creators felt this was the most important story to tell. Either way, it’s a bold and introspective ending, one that centers emotional growth over dramatic flair. Whether satisfying or not, it proves once again that The Bear knows how to keep us thinking even after the credits roll.

“The Bear” Season 4 Episode 9 Ending Explained: Marcus’s Big Win Might Be the Lifeline the Restaurant Needs
Image
The Bear returned for Season 4 exactly a year after Season 3’s cliffhanger finale, and it picks up right where we left off. The Tribune review is out. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t glowing either. The result? A two-month timer from Uncle Jimmy and his finance guy–Computer. If things don’t improve by then, The Bear shuts down.

As the clock ticks, the team faces new challenges and old wounds: Carmy and Claire finally start working through their past, Sydney finally comes to her decision on where she wants to work, and Donna begins finding peace in her own way. The season covers it all with emotional depth and tension building every step of the way.

Episode 9, titled Tonnato, brings us to the edge of that timer. But just when it seems like hope is slipping, good news arrives something that could change everything and give The...

‘The Bear’ Season 4 Episode 8 Review and Ending Explained: Luca Puts on His Wisdom Hat to Guide Tina Through a Pasta Timing Crisis
Image
The timer is almost up, and The Bear is running out of time, literally. The restaurant has grown since it first opened and now runs smoothly, almost like a well-oiled machine. But things aren’t as stable as they seem. Uncle Jimmy is losing money fast, and now the team only has one more day to turn things around. The pressure is high, and everyone is doing their best to hold it together.

In the middle of all this, Tina is still stuck on her pasta problem. She’s trying to make a dish in under three minutes and has done everything she can think of, prepping, portioning, speeding things up, but it’s still not working. So she turns to Luca. He doesn’t fix the problem, but he helps her see it in a new way. And sometimes, that’s enough.

7 Reasons Why ‘The Bear’ Season 4 Was Just The Worst
Image
I didn’t have a good time watching The Bear Season 4, and I mean that in the strictest sense. The 1st season was what I’d call a “godsend.” It arrived at one of the worst periods of my life, and it’s like I could see myself in that show and also find the motivation to keep going and not give up. When the 2nd season arrived, it also echoed a lot of the emotions that I was experiencing at that time, and it really helped me flesh out my relationship with my work. These last 2 seasons, though, have been absolutely clueless about what they want to say or what they want to be. Yeah, yeah, it’s about trauma and healing; every other show is about trauma and healing nowadays. How’s The Bear doing it differently? I don’t know. And while I gave Season 3 a pass,...

‘The Bear’ Season 4 Recap (Episodes 1-10): Did Sydney Choose The Bear?
Image
The Bear season 4 is not quite the same as the previous three seasons. I will admit the final few episodes certainly felt more the norm than the rest of the season, maybe which toned down the chaos. While the story doesn’t really move forward, there’s still something very “The Bear” about “The Bear,” if you know what I mean. I think this comes from the way the show treats its characters, specifically how, despite much-needed gaps in between seasons, you’re always reconnected to all the recurring characters because they feel somehow like people in your own life. From the way everybody treats Neil like a baby to how they all gather together to help little Evie when she’s upset, it all feels like a real, authentic family experience. This season doesn’t have much to fall back on in terms of plot, as such. There’s...

‘The Bear’ Season 4 Episode 4 Review and Ending Explained: Hair Crisis, Career Crossroads, and Sydney in the Middle of It All?
Image
I love it when The Bear steps away from all the kitchen chaos and gives us a moment to breathe, no shouting, no “hands,” just life outside the line. Episode 4 is one of those rare breaks. No Carmy, no Richie, no Tina, or Marcus. This one’s all Sydney. And honestly? It might be one of the most unique episodes yet.

It’s just her, trying to fix her hair and figure out if The Bear is still the place for her. Adam Shapiro’s loud, too enthusiastic kitchen wants her, and she’s tempted. But nothing’s ever that simple. The whole episode plays like that phrase we’ve all heard before: “That’s too complicated, explain it to me like I’m 10 years old.”

And honestly, that’s exactly what this is. Sydney, trying to figure out her next big move, is also babysitting her niece and explaining her problems.

‘The Bear’ Season 4 Ending Explained: Breaking Down That Jaw-Dropping Cliffhanger
Image
The finale of season 4 of The Bear is out, and it is a downright emotional gut-punch that has viewers divided in opinion. Carmy has finally reached a breaking point after 4 seasons. He finally admits that he no longer wants to be a chef and is prepared to walk out of his restaurant after it earns the coveted Michelin star.

[Spoiler]

In a jaw-dropping moment, he removes his name from the partnership and gives Richie the spotlight. With the doomsday clock ticking, the only way to keep The Bear functional is if it turns a profit or earns a Michelin star, both seeming like a miracle. The season finale ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the viewers uncertain about whether The Bear will survive without Carmy or not.

The Bear season 4 episode 4 recap: Sydney makes a big decision
Image
After Carmy's very personal journey to Claire's house in The Bear season 4 episode 3, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) is the focus of the next episode. With a big decision looming, will Sydney finally make it?

The Bear season 4 season 4, which was written by Edebiri and Lionel Boyce, who stars as Marcus, begins with Sydney paying a visit to Shapiro (Adam Shapiro) at his new place. He walks Syd through the restaurant, which is in the middle of the remodel. It's pretty barebones at the moment, but Shapiro has big dreams for his restaurant. He even wants to give his employees healthcare. How radical, right?!

And, it's not just healthcare. Shapiro wants to invest in their employees' learning, development, and more. It all sounds great, but we can all tell that Syd is just not as interested or invested in this new business. Her heart is and always has been with The Bear,...

The Bear Season 4 Review: Last Season's Flawed Recipe Is Improved With An Emotional Feast
Image
While this review is as spoiler-free as possible, and the new season is already streaming, consider this a spoiler warning for "The Bear" season 4.

"The Bear" was great TV seemingly from the jump. Christopher Storer's stress-inducing series about the struggles of a Chicago sandwich shop turned fine dining establishment hooked me (and many others) almost immediately with its intense filmmaking, it's electric editing, and its excellent cast. Season 1 was good, season 2 was even better. But I suppose sooner or later, every great show stumbles. After the highs of the first two season, "The Bear" season 3 felt adrift, lost, unfocused. Perhaps that was intentional — a way to reflect the way the characters felt lost. Intentional or not, it didn't quite work — something was missing.

I ultimately gave season 3 a positive review, but it was the first time I found myself struggling with the show. While I appreciated some of the more daring formal choices,...

‘The Bear’ Review: FX/Hulu’s Culinary Dramedy Stalls Out With a Muted Fourth Season
Image
Time is a relentless force in FX/Hulu’s The Bear, pressing ahead no matter how strenuously our characters try to ignore it or slow it down. Morning alarms drag bleary-eyed employees out of bed. Kitchen timers measure their work to the millisecond. An “Every Second Counts” sign scans as both inspiration and warning, while nearby, a giant clock ticks down the minutes until the restaurant officially runs out of money; as of the season four premiere, it’s set at 1,440 hours, or about two months.

But even as time marches on, momentum is under no obligation to follow. Where The Bear once seemed almost too restless — exploding with stress and thriving on turmoil, eager to subvert and surprise — the latest run has the feel of a show burnt out from the effort of trying to outdo itself. Rather than push forward or drill deeper, it retreats into familiar territory as it prepares,...

The Bear season 4 episode 3 recap: Carmy finally rights a wrong
Image
After two great episodes to start the season, The Bear season 4 episode 3 opens with an epic Sydney-throwing-down-montage to "Fast Slow Dance" by St. Vincent. Stylistically, this is The Bear at its best! I love all the arguments as much as the next person, but The Bear does these beautiful montages better than any show on TV right now.

Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) tries the dish Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) just made, and he's in. In fact, he calls it perfect, and he tells her to put it up, meaning it's going on the menu today. While Syd is stoked for the praise, there's something more behind her eyes. It's obviously the guilt of all of those conversations with Shapiro about possibly leaving Carmy and The Bear.

Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) has a phone call with Tiffany (Gillian Jacobs) about their daughter, but when she asks if Richie is coming to the wedding,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Entire Plot May Have Leaked Online - Major Spoilers
Image
The entire plot of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps, along with every major story development, surprise character appearance, and post-credit scene detail, has seemingly leaked online.

The breakdown was shared on Reddit, and while we're all fully aware that the site does get its share of fake "leaks," we've reached out to a source who is confident that everything is on the level. Plus, based on what we already know about the movie, there's nothing here that stands out as being overly far-fetched or hard to believe.

With this in mind, beware of potentially major spoilers from this point on.

The breakdown reveals that the movie opens with a montage showing the team's past battles against Mole Man and "Red Ghost and his chimps." In present day, Sue Storm learns that she's pregnant shortly before the Silver Surfer arrives to inform them that Galactus is on his way to devour their planet.

‘Only Murders in the Building’: After surprise success at SAG, how big can Season 4 get at the Emmys?
Image
Last year, Only Murders in the Building scored its most Emmy nominations yet with 21 — 10 more than the total it nabbed the year prior for its second season and four more than it earned for Season 1. But can it go even bigger this year with Season 4?

The murder mystery is coming off its best winter awards run following double surprise victories at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Martin Short's performance and comedy ensemble. They are the show's first major industry prizes — perhaps a preview of its first major Emmy win? Only Murders in the Building has won seven Emmys from 49 nominations for its first three seasons, but all have been at the Creative Arts Emmys.

The Hulu series has 35 submissions across 16 categories for Season 4. Let's take a look at its Emmy prospects.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps - New Clip Heralds The Arrival Of This Week's Final Trailer
Image
Marvel Studios has announced that the final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released online this Wednesday, and we have a (very) brief new clip featuring Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) and The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).

In what we assume to be a few seconds of footage from the upcoming trailer, we see Johnny ask his grouchy teammate what time it is. Ben responds with a curt, "it's dinner time."

So far, we haven't really seen that much interaction between these two, but this is a good sign that the often contentious big brother/little brother dynamic will carry over from the comics.

Have a look at the clip at the link below, along with another RealD 3D teaser that's currently screening in theaters.

6 Years Later, All Seasons of This 88% Rotten Tomatoes Cult Comedy Are Arriving on a New Streaming Platform
Image
If you are a Community fan and own a Hulu subscription, next month will be a great one for you. This week, the streaming platform announced that all seasons of the cult comedy are being added to the library, and you can start binging as early as July 3. In case you missed the series, this is the perfect chance to find out why it became such a high-rated show back when it started airing in 2009. The entire story has six seasons – and a movie that has been in the works for a decade.

One of the reasons why Community became as popular as it did is because pretty much every episode contains a ton of references to other shows and movies. It could go as big as referencing Batman movies but also use some lesser-known references to inspire an entire episode, like the one built around the 1981 cult comedy My Dinner With Andre.

Jon Bernthal volverá como The Punisher en ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.
Image
También han sido confirmados los regresos de Zendaya y Jacob Batalon. © Sony Pictures & Disney+

Jon Bernthal's The Punisher Confirmed For An Upcoming MCU Movie
Image
A vigilante from Daredevil: Born Again is crossing paths with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. It's just not the team-up that fans have been wanting for the better part of a decade.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle/Punisher will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe-set solo movie for Holland's version of the fan-favorite webslinger. Despite the fandom wishing to see Charlie Cox's Daredevil cross paths with Spider-Man on the big (or small) screen, it will be Bernthal's unforgiving vigilante who will instead be appearing in Sony's next Marvel movie. Punisher's involvement in Brand New Day also hints at a more grounded sequel for Spider-Man instead of another multiverse adventure that Sony was reportedly interested in, but Marvel and Holland were against.

Bernthal first appeared as The Punisher in the second season of Netflix's Daredevil. His portrayal was so...

‘Awards Magnet’: New Emmy predictions — including those cutthroat lead categories
Image
Who will be squeezed out in the lead categories of five? Awards Magnet host Joyce Eng and a special guest, Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson, discuss their updated Emmy predictions as voting continues.

With the number of slots per category now set, it's time to make some tough decisions. Or maybe not-so tough? All the lead acting categories will have five slots this year, barring a tie. That sucks for the Emmy hopefuls, but some of these categories have a pretty firm top four — or even five — contenders, which makes chopping a sixth person slightly less difficult. But with fewer slots for voters to fill in, will that inspire more passion picks? Like for, say, underdog Bridget Everett, who's on her last shot to be nominated for Somebody Somewhere? She's in 10th place in the Best Comedy Actress odds. Two years ago, Jason Segel (Shrinking) surprisingly made the Best...

The Fantastic Four: Reed Richards Stretches His Arm (We Hope It's His Arm) Around Latest Popcorn Bucket
Image
The first look at a new tie-in popcorn holder for Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been shared online, and it features Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) using his stretchy abilities - something we've only seen very briefly in the trailers and TV spots.

Mr. Fantastic is (obviously) using his arm to grasp the bucket here, but the internet being the internet, some fans have latched on to the fact that, from a certain angle, it does kind of look like it could be... another body part.

This is just the latest in a large range of First Steps popcorn buckets that will soon be available. This one won't be quite as pricey as that massive Galactus collectible, however, and will set you back $39.99.

Check out some shots of the Reed Richards bucket below, along with some much more suggestive fan-art from Boss Logic.

Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere Trailer Featuring Jeremy Allen White
Image
20th Century Studios has released the official trailer and poster for Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, the upcoming feature film that chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album.

The album is a raw, haunted acoustic record that marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works.

Director Scott Cooper, who wrote the script for the screen based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere by Warren Zanes, said, “Making ‘Springsteen’ was deeply moving as it allowed me to step inside the soul of an artist I’ve long admired – and to witness, up close, the vulnerability and strength behind his music.

“The experience felt like a journey through memory, myth, and truth. And more than anything, it was a privilege to translate that raw emotional honesty to the screen, and in doing so, it changed me. I cannot thank Bruce and...

‘The Studio’ Emmy predictions: How many nominations can it get?
Image
Seth Rogen just might get to make a few acceptance speeches after all. While his on-camera doppelganger Matt Remick was desperate to be thanked from the Golden Globes stage, the cocreator/star/writer/director of Apple TV+'s The Studio may not have to worry. The freshman comedy may well prove to be the spoiler in the much-anticipated Emmys rematch between Hacks and The Bear — especially given its deep cast of A-list stars, the high-wire act of those oners, and Hollywood's love of celebrating itself.

See'The Studio' episodes ranked, from worst to best Best Comedy Series

With eight slots for best comedy, The Studio is assured of a nomination — the only question is whether it will unseat the reigning champ, Hacks. As of now The Studio is in second place on Gold Derby's predictions charts, but it's verrrrry close — and this time out, there's no debate about whether these contenders are comedies.

Jeremy Allen White in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025)
Deliver Me from Nowhere presses play on a teaser for the Bruce Springsteen biopic ahead of tomorrow’s full trailer
Jeremy Allen White in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025)
20th Century Studios is ready to press play on a teaser for Deliver Me from Nowhere, the biographical musical drama film starring Jeremy Allen White as the American rock singer and icon Bruce Springsteen. The teaser is an amuse-bouche for tomorrow’s full trailer reveal, with the Scott Cooper-directed feature focusing on the conception of Springsteen’s album Nebraska.

Today’s Deliver Me from Nowhere teaser presents a 30-second clip of someone (presumably Bruce Springsteen or a record executive) inserting a cassette tape into a diesel-looking stereo system. The sound of the tape getting loaded into the deck and subsequent button presses emits some inspired Asmr for audiophiles as reels rotate. The cassette, marked ‘Colts Neck – Demo,’ plays an early cut of the Boss’s pop-influenced hit ‘Born in the U.S.A.,’ before the screen fades to black.

TV’s double threats: 10 actors eyeing nominations for both comedy and drama at the 2025 Emmys
Image
The 2025 Emmys could have viewers seeing double when nominations are announced on July 15. This year, several of TV's most versatile stars — true double threats — are vying for spots in both comedy and drama categories. From Catherine O'Hara's wildly contrasting roles in The Studio and The Last of Us to Jon Hamm's dual turn in Your Friends and Neighbors and his hosting stint on Saturday Night Live, the race is shaping up to celebrate TV's finest multidimensional talent.

Historically, it’s not uncommon for an actor to score two Emmy nominations in a single year — but being recognized for both a dramatic and comedic performance in the same year is far rarer, and winning both is nearly unheard of. In fact, only two actors have ever managed a double victory of this caliber: Colleen Dewhurst (Murphy Brown and Those She Left Behind in 1989) and Allison Janney (Mom and Masters...

Joel McHale Swears He’s the ‘Hero’ of ‘The Bear’ – But Seth Meyers Immediately Brings Him Back Down to Earth | Video
Image
Joel McHale’s Chef David may be a nightmare for Carmy on “The Bear,” but according to McHale himself, he’s actually “the hero” of the FX series. Seth Meyers immediately corrected that assertion on Tuesday night, though.

Stopping by “Late Night,” McHale discussed his experiences hosting Fox’s “Crime Scene Kitchen,” admitting that he’s gained a bit of weight from how much of the food he eats. Naturally, this led Meyers to “The Bear,” praising McHale for his work in it as the ruthless chef that is at least part of the root of Carmy’s (Jeremy Allen White) anxiety.

“I’m the hero,” McHale insisted, after Meyers noted his character is mean. “I’m the protagonist.”

“I don’t think anybody thinks — you’re not the hero of ‘The Bear,'” Meyers immediately retorted. “You’re a mean guy.”

The “House of Villains” star then justified his...

Is Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom In Fantastic Four: First Steps? Here's What The Director Says
Image
Doctor Doom is one of the most noteworthy and beloved villains ever to grace the pages of a comic book. While he's become a larger fixture in the larger Marvel Comics universe over the decades since his creation, Victor Von Doom is most closely associated with the Fantastic Four as their arch-nemesis. Naturally, that will lead certain fans to wonder if former "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom is going to appear in this summer's "The Fantastic Four: First Steps." Well, director Matt Shakman has weighed in on the topic multiple times, and his answers don't leave much room for interpretation.

Shakman, who is best known for his work on "WandaVision," spoke with Entertainment Weekly back in April, previewing the much-anticipated "Fantastic Four" reboot within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When addressing the Doctor Doom of it all (or lack thereof), Shakman made it pretty clear the esteemed...

Emmy experts debate Comedy Series race: ‘Hacks’ will compete against ‘a bunch of new kids on the block’
Image
Last year's Best Comedy Series winner, Hacks, is back in the running for more Emmy gold, but several new contenders are hoping to stop it in its tracks, including The Studio, Nobody Wants This, and The Four Seasons. Four top Emmy experts — Variety's Clayton Davis, The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg, Indiewire's Marcus Jones, Deadline's Pete Hammond — debate the race with moderator and Gold Derby editor-in-chief Debra Birnbaum in our latest slugfest video (watch above).

"We are almost certainly going to see the return of last year's somewhat surprise winner, Hacks, and then The Bear, which had been widely predicted to win," says Feinberg. "I think we'll see Only Murders in the Building and Abbott Elementary back, and Shrinking. There's a bunch of new kids on the block, most prominently The Studio, which I think is in, as is Nobody Wants This from Netflix. So, I think in a way,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Early Box Office Forecast Predicts $125M - $136M+ Debut
Image
We're over six weeks away from the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, so while box office tracking is still a ways off, BoxOfficeTheory.com has shared their early forecast for the MCU reboot's opening weekend.

Based on factors such as ticket pre-sales, trailer views/reactions, Marvel's previous late summer openers and the competition the movie will face when it hits theaters, the site is predicting a domestic debut of between $125 million and $136 million.

"At the risk of understating, a release two weeks after Superman (July 11) will be incredibly interesting to follow," they write. "In an era when many audiences have become more selective about which comic book films get them into cinemas, the year’s two biggest properties from that realm will aim to coexist in the lucrative late summer corridor. Either way, die hard fans will show up for both."

This would be a great start for the movie,...

New The Fantastic Four: First Steps Stills Feature Silver Surfer, Human Torch Taking Flight, And More
Image
Tickets for Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps went on sale yesterday, and have been selling very well so far, with reports of purchase links crashing due to high demand.

Regardless, the majority of fans seem to be looking forward to the MCU reboot, and yesterday's new teaser arguably went over better than the recent full trailer, as we got to see a bit more of Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm's personalities, as well as a little "it's clobberin' time" tease.

Now, we have some new promo stills from the latest issue of Empire Magazine (via @CosmicMarvel), giving us another look at Reed and Sue (with baby Franklin in his carriage), the Silver Surfer, the Human Torch taking flight, and more.

New ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Trailer Pits Marvel’s First Family Against a World-Devouring Doom — Despite What Matt Shakman Said
Image
We’re less than two weeks away from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Marvel’s third and final movie of the year just got a riveting new look. Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps and also announced that tickets for the film are now on sale ahead of its July 25 release. The trailer also teases the arrival of Galactus (Ralph Ineson) while playing coy about any potential involvement from Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.), who will be the feature villain in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday. During this month’s issue of Empire Magazine, director Matt Shakman stated that Doom won’t be in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but this wouldn’t be the first time a Marvel creative or actor has applied a bit of misdirection to throw off the fans.

If Doctor Doom is going to have a...

New The Fantastic Four: First Steps Poster Released; Tickets Officially Go On Sale Tomorrow
Image
We figured tickets for The Fantastic Four: First Steps might go on sale at some point this week, and Marvel Studios has now officially announced that you'll be able to book your seat for the long-awaited MCU reboot tomorrow.

We may get a new trailer once purchase links go live (we'd say a featurette and some new posters are more likely), but for now, we have a retro one-sheet featuring Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, the Thing, H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot, and the Fantasticar.

Kevin Feige spoke on the importance of introducing these characters to the MCU during a recent interview with Empire.

“I think that there are no four characters that are more important for the history of Marvel. When Disney bought Fox, it was really an unexpected dream come true. It came at the perfect time, to help us launch into a new era.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Director Reveals Whether Doctor Doom Will Appear - Spoilers
Image
Given the fact that Robert Downey Jr. will soon step into the role of Doctor Doom in the MCU, and that the character is most closely associated with Marvel's First Family, fans have understandably been speculating that the villain could make his debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Now, director Matt Shakman has provided us with a pretty definitive answer.

Spoilers follow.

While speaking to Empire for the movie mag's latest issue, Shakman stated: "Doom is not a part of my film, and therefore not a part of my purview."

According to a few different sources, the post-credits scene that was attached to a recent test-screening did feature the villain, with Sue Storm returning to Franklin's crib to find Doom sitting beside the boy while holding his mask in his hands.

Do Shakman's comments suggest that this leak is inaccurate? Not necessarily.

A post-credits stinger is not technically...

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia's Crew Once Made A Chaotic Pilot For A Star Trek Parody
Image
Captain James T. Kirk opens the original "Star Trek" series with these immortal words: "Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before!" The excellent "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" takes its title from Captain Kirk's intro, but it's not the only show to draw inspiration from this opening narration (though you might be surprised to learn which series I'm referring to here).

In the wake of the meteoric success of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" season 3, 20th Century Fox was interested in anything the show's creators -- Rob McElhenny, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day -- had cooking. Hence, while appearing at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con (via IGN), the trio announced they were working on a science fiction comedy series called "Boldly Going Nowhere,...

Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) will portray Ben Grimm in the upcoming MCU film, whose human body is turned into a rock monster after a mission to space goes awry. I Won’t Forgive ‘The Bear’ Season 4 if Carmy Gets a Happy Ending With Claire After That Trailer Hint
Image
Have you ever watched a show so raw that it feels like your heart is slowly being cut into pieces on a chopping board? The Bear does that to me because it’s just so chaotic, poetic, brutal, soft, and somehow, always honest. Over the last three seasons, I’ve rooted for Carmy in many ways, I’ve also raged at him, and cried with him.

However, there’s one thing that I absolutely will not get behind, and that is the possibility, or even the idea of a happy ending between Carmy and Claire. If that happens, it means we’ve missed the entire point, and I surely would not be able to forgive the show for that.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Rumor May Reveal Which Part Of The Multiverse The Movie Is Set - Spoilers
Image
Since there had been no mention of Marvel's First Family in the almost two-decade history of the MCU, fans had assumed that Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot, now titled The Fantastic Four: First Steps, would most likely be set in an alternate universe when it was first announced.

Kevin Feige would later confirm that Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben would indeed be introduced in a different part of the Multiverse, and we may now know exactly which Earth they will hail from.

Spoilers follow.

According to scooper Mttsh, First Steps "will be set in Universe 828."

This designation has yet to be established in the MCU or in the comic books, but if it sounds familiar, it's probably because Stephen Strange and America Chavez paid a visit to Earth 838 in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There's been some confusion about this online, but it wouldn't make much sense for...

The Fantastic Four Prepare To Face The Might Of Galactus In New First Steps Teaser
Image
As expected, Marvel Studios debuted another teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps during game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals last night, even though it wasn't exactly the new look at the MCU reboot fans were hoping for.

The spot reuses and mixes around a lot of footage from the recent full trailer, but there are a couple of new shots in there.

In addition to a quick glimpse of Galactus' immense shadow looming over the city, we see Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) watching H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot flying towards what appears to be the Fantasticar launch pad we saw in that first batch of set photos.

Prior to First Steps entering production, we heard that the Invisible Woman was going to be the main focus of the movie. We're sure the other members of the team won't be given short shrift, but the story...
