Biography

Ian was born in Glendale, California, but moved to Wales at the age of six. This gives him the advantage of having dual nationality. His first feature film appearance was in La Chute du faucon noir (2001), directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, where Ian plays the role of Specialist John Waddell.

Ian trained at the National Youth Music Theatre and, at the young age of just 17, was offered a place at The Royal Academy of Music's one-year intensive postgraduate course as a non-graduate, studying acting and singing.

Ian still remains the youngest person to have ever been accepted on the post-graduate one-year intensive performance course at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London at the tender age of 16. He started the course at 17 and graduated at 18, where he was snapped up by Steven Spielberg for Band of Brothers and Ridley Scott for Black Hawk Down. Having been plunged into film and television straight out of the bat, Ian was forced to learn his craft in front of the camera while filming intense scenes opposite some of Hollywood's biggest names. His film career is shared still with his love of being on the stage as Ian performs in shows and concerts all over the world, singing with the top orchestras and conductors from all over, securing him roles in film and theatre alike as a great crossover performer.
