Semyon Vinokur is a professor of scriptwriting and directing at the
"Sapir" Film Academy as well as at the Ma'ale Film School. He regularly
supervises graduate students' graduation film projects there. He is
also a member of the Israeli Film Academy.
Vinokur (born in 1957), completed his Masters Degree in Engineering in Leningrad (St. Petersburg), USSR in 1979. He completed the Elite State Course for advanced directing with the Goskino of the USSR (the State Committee for Cinematography) in Moscow in 1984, and the Elite State Course of refined script writing with Gosteleradio of the USSR (State Committee for TV and Radio) in Moscow in 1986.
