Biography

    • Larry Vincent (born Jerry Vance) was perhaps best known for his character of Seymour, the Master of the Macabre, the Epitome of Evil, The most sinister man to crawl on the face of the earth. Seymour hosted monster movies on KHJ (Los Angeles) for several years before moving to KTLA (Los Angeles), and just before his death from stomach cancer back to KHJ.

    • Before moving to Los Angeles, California, He was "Captain Starr" on local television station WFBM in Indianapolis in the 1960s, as one of a trio of hosts, along with Harlow Hickenlooper (aka Hal Fryer from "The Outlaws is Coming" 3 Stooges Movie) and Curley Myers for children's programing, which showed the old "3 Stooges" shorts, as well as skits for an in- studio audience of children which usually ended up with pie-in-the face comedy and songs from the hosts.

  • "Seymour Presents" was taking market share from the networks in Los Angeles.

    He had perhaps the most watched show in Los Angeles on Saturday night after the first season. He did it with an old library of "B" science fiction movies (trash can liners), the only new content being his character and wit.
  • Vincent helped create the annual Halloween Haunt tradition at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, Ca. In fact, he made an appearance at the opening even though he was undergoing chemotherapy for the cancer that eventually claimed his life.
  • Has four daughters: Diane, Valerie, Beth, and Kathryn. Has one son: Daniel.
  • 1968/ Became staff director for KHJ TV channel 9 in Los Angeles.
  • In 2017, Larry Vincent - "Seymour", was inducted into "The Official Horror Host Hall of Fame".
