Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Return Diet Has Already Had Consequences
Image
Hugh Jackman reveals his return to the Wolverine diet and workout for Deadpool 3 has caused hilarious consequences for the actor's other jobs. Jackman returns as Wolverine for the first time since he last played the role in Logan, back in 2017. That movie beautifully ended Jackman's arc as the character, which will not be meddled with in Deadpool 3. Instead, Jackman and co-star Ryan Reynolds have revealed Wolverine will come from an earlier point in the timeline.

During an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jackman explained that his Wolverine diet and workout have seen the actor bulk up so much, that he ripped his pants three times during the actor's Broadway show.

Wolverine's MCU debut in Deadpool 3 is already underway with Jackman putting up the muscle to play the character again. Wolverine's impressive physique has become a main feature of the character over Jackman's more than 20 years of onscreen appearances.

Hugh Jackman Is Finally Ready to Admit That He’s Nothing Like Wolverine
Image
Hugh Jackman became a movie star with Wolverine in the first “X-Men” movie more than 20 years ago, slashing his way to blockbuster visibility with a role that continues to dominate his career. Part of that is because even fans of Jackman’s musical talents closely associate him with a scowling mutant, and rather than dispelling that perception, he simply invented another persona alongside it as a song-and-dance man. He’s played Peter Allen in “The Boy From Oz,” P.T. Barnum in “The Greatest Showman” and, most recently, Professor Harold Hill in the hit new Broadway production of “The Music Man,” but he’s never played Hugh Jackman.

“When I was getting into this business, the playbook for being a movie star was being mysterious,” the 53-year-old actor said in a recent interview with IndieWire. “Don’t let anybody in. Leave them wanting more. Don’t reveal things. Project a certain image.

The Music Man, starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, will end its run on Jan. 1, the production announced on Tuesday.

The popular revival opened at the Winter Garden Theatre on Feb. 10, after having been delayed by the pandemic. Jackman and Foster were both nominated for Tony Awards for their portrayals of Professor Harold Hill and Marian Paroo.

Since opening, the revival has been one of the highest grossing shows on Broadway on a weekly basis, regularly bringing in close to or more than 3 million. Its popularity, and Jackman’s star status, helped support the industry as it mounted a return after an 18-month closure and continues to weather challenges related to the pandemic.

The Music Man, directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, was originally produced by Scott Rudin. Rudin stepped back from producing, following a Hollywood Reporter article detailing allegations of bullying in the workplace,...

“To say that this is a dream come true is an understatement,” marveled Sutton Foster in 2002 when Jerry Orbach and Doris Roberts called her name as the winner of the Tony Award for her performance in “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” Now exactly 20 years later, Foster could win her third trophy for her work in the revival of the classic Broadway musical “The Music Man,” starring opposite fellow Tony winner Hugh Jackman. Below, see a list of all seven of Sutton Foster’s Tony nominations and her two wins.
