Clinton "Buzz" Vaught was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but always lived across the river in Clarksville, Indiana. He was a coordinator/theatre and speech teacher for the Youth Performing Arts School /Manual High School in Louisville, where he taught for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School, he received his undergraduate degree from Transylvania University and received his master's degree in theatre and speech from the University of Louisville. Prior to his teaching career, he performed and directed plays in various theaters throughout the U.S. Locally, he performed at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Music Theatre of Louisville, and Shakespeare in the Park, and appeared in movies, commercials, training films, and print ads. He also directed numerous historical performances at the Kentucky State Fair. He founded the Young Actors Institute which ran for 24 successful summers training students in stage and screen skills. His obituary stated that his proudest achievement was teaching and being a mentor to many students and assisting them with their success. He died October 18, 2011 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
