Biography

Sajid Varda is a Producer, Actor and Story Consultant. Sajid starred in and exec produced the award winning comedy film 'The Chop' that won over 54 international awards. He also produced the US comedy film 'The Tiger Hunter' directed by Lena Khan, which won four accolades at the Los Angeles Pacific Asian Film Festival.

Sajid has worked for over 30 years in the industry winning lead and supporting roles in drama and comedy on screen for BBC TV, Channel 5 & ITV. However, after his father suffered a stroke, Sajid had to take time out from the industry to become a full time carer.

Sajid is a professionally trained singer, having performed with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors both in the UK and abroad and recorded several classical albums including one at the world renown 'Abbey Road Studios'.

Sajid was appointed Co-Chair on the BFI Screen Advisory Group and has served as story consultant for Channel 4 drama -'Screw', ITV's - 'Good Karma Hospital' and Channel 4 drama - 'Hollyoaks' and is working with Lime Pictures to develop the award winning children's book ' Planet Omar' written by Zanib Mian for television. As Founder / CEO of charity UK Muslim Film, Sajid speaks frequently on the subject of Muslim representation in the entertainment industry and continues to advise the industry on inclusion and how best to avoid stereotyping.
