Frank Bigelow is Going to Die Again in First Trailer for 'D.O.A.' Remake
Image
"You've been dealt a bad deal… so don't make it worse." Did anyone know about this? There's a brand new 2022 remake of a classic 1940s film noir film titled D.O.A., premiering soon at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival. The original D.O.A., directed by Rudolph Maté & starring Edmond O'Brien, was about a P.I. named Frank Bigelow who is told he's been poisoned and has only a few days to live, so he tries to find out who killed him and why. "While the story shares a title and premise with the original movie… most of the plot elements are original," the director of this new one explains. "With the clock ticking, Bigelow descends into a world of crooks and double-dealers, treacherous women and violent men, slashing through a tangle of conspiracies to figure out who 'killed' him & why." This one stars John Doe as Frank, with Paola Duque,...

BlackBoxTV, PrankVsPrank Introduce YouTubers To A Psycho Fan At Vidcon
Tony Valenzuela is an expert at scaring. The BlackBoxTV creator has used his YouTube channel for all manner of horror videos, including a slew of macabre pranks. BlackBox's most popular series is Evil Good Times, where ordinary people are subjected to sketchy cabs, killer photo booths, and creepy auditions for our general amusement. At Vidcon, BlackBox took its practical joking to the next level by introducing well-known YouTube creators to a psychotic fan. BlackBox teamed up with PrankVsPrank for eight separate renditions of the same stunt. YouTubers were asked up to a hotel room for an interview, where they were met by a crazy fan played by actress Julia Gallagher. As Tony V, Jesse, Jeana, and Stefan Glidden (who produces many of the Evil Good Times pranks) fed her lines, Gallagher attempted to solicit each of her 'guests' before a kidnapped guest or taser threat revealed her true intentions. Two...

The Last Godfather
The Last Godfather is a vanity piece for Korean comedian Hyung-rae Shim who writes, directs and stars. Hyung-rae is not well known in the West, and if he keeps making films like this, he’ll remain unknown, which would be the best thing he could to for the West. This film is an attempt by Shim to introduce American audiences to his Young-Gu character. Shim made a series of Young-Gu comedies in Korea during the 1990s, which were apparently very popular over there. Never having seen any of them, I can only guess that they were better than The Last Godfather.

The film takes place in 1950s New York, when aging mafia Godfather Don Carini (Keitel) shocks his clan by announcing that he wants to retire and turn the family business over to his secret son Young-Gu, who he sired while in hiding from a rival mob in Asia decades earlier.

Denis Leary on Ben Rapelisberger and Rescue Me
Ranting standup comedian Denis Leary has found success on the long-running firefighter show Rescue Me. With the final two seasons in the can and season six set to air in June, Leary is going back standup for charity gig. For the second year in a row, Leary will host an 11-city comedy tour with Rescue Me costars Lenny Clarke and Adam Ferrara. Starting May 22 in Atlantic City, a portion of proceeds go to the Leary Firefighters Foundation. It also gives Leary a chance to rail on some of the recent news stories.

“One of the things, obviously, we’ll be talking about is the Catholic Church and Ben Roethlisberger,” Leary said in a conference call with the media. “Just the idea of talking about Ben Roethlisberger, athletes who are criminally involved in illegal pursuits, that alone could probably give me ten minutes of material. I think we can safely say whatever night you come,...
