Ashok Tyagi is a rare blend of intellect and cinematic passion. Schooled at the prestigious Mayo College, Ajmer, he went on to graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and further sharpened his creative instincts with a post-graduation from the Film & Television Institute of India, Pune. An Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Tyagi today holds the influential position of Secretary General at the International Chamber of Media & Entertainment Industry.

His early career as a film editor saw him work on masterpieces such as Ghasiram Kotwal, Satah Se Uthta Aadmi, Desert and Dhrupad under the genius of Mani Kaul Tarang with auteur Kumar Shahani; and Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastan with the celebrated Saeed Mirza-earning him the reputation of a craftsman who could breathe rhythm into visuals.

Taking the director's chair, Tyagi brought his own cinematic vision to life through an impressive line-up of films that blended star power with storytelling finesse. His directorial ventures include Surkhiyaan featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Suresh Oberoi, Moon Moon Sen and Kulbhushan Kharbanda; the intense Andhergardi with Raj Babbar, Kimi Katkar, Shafi Inamdar and Shakti Kapoor; the stylish Return of Jewel Thief starring legends Ashok Kumar, Dev Anand, Dharmendra and Jackie Shroff; the political drama Bharat Bhagya Vidhata with Shatrughan Sinha, Jaya Prada, Chandrachur Singh and Puru Rajkumar; the musical drama Dard-E-Disco starring Bappi Lahiri, Rituparna Sengupta, Akshay Kapoor and Sneha Ullal; the gripping Riyasat featuring Rajesh Khanna, Aryan Vaid and Raza Murad; the historical Vibhajan Ka Tandav with Amol Kolhe; and the thriller Red starring Krishna Abhishek, Payal Ghosh, Kamlesh Sawant and Bharat Dabholkar. With a career that spans art-house brilliance to mainstream entertainers, Ashok Tyagi continues to be a storyteller who refuses to be boxed into one genre always chasing the next big cinematic adventure.
