Trivia

  • Unfortunately, due to the racism of the era, his roles were limited to where he often played very degrading, stereotypical black characters who were usually frightened beyond exaggeration and/or brainless half-wits. Examples of these can be seen in Ladies They Talk About (1933), the "Our Gang" short Shrimps for a Day (1934), and Blondie Has Servant Trouble (1940).
  • Enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 27, 1942 and rose to the rank of TEC 4, equivalent to a sergeant.
  • He is interred at the Riverside National Cemetary, Riverside, California.
