Kyoraku Struggles to Uphold Yamamoto's Legacy as Captain in Bleach: Tybw
Image
The Thousand-Year Blood War arc has forced the characters of Bleach into positions that they may not otherwise feel ready for. Upheaval has been a reoccurring event throughout the different arcs of this shonen. When Rukia Kuchiki came into Ichigo Kurosaki's life, she turned it on its head. When Ichigo and his friends invaded Soul Society, they revealed some of the flaws in the system and Sosuke Aizen showed his own hand for the first time. Combined with the loss of Captain Commander Genryusai Yamamoto, Shunsui Kyoraku can only hope to fill the shoes that Yamamoto left for him to lead his people through this battle.

While Kyoraku's appointment to the captain commander position isn't controversial among Soul Reapers, there's an underlying feeling that he isn't Yamamoto among them.

On a somewhat related note, Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo designed the “Orochi” creature summoned by Jun at the :44 mark of the teaser.
