Ilya Trauberg was born on 3 December 1905 in Odessa, Kherson Governorate, Russian Empire [now Ukraine]. He was a director and writer, known for L'Année 19 (1938), Pour vous, il y aura du travail (1932) and L'express bleu (1929). He died on 18 December 1948 in Berlin, Germany.
