  • In Berlin he entered the film business and he took part in the movies "In der Tiefe des Schachtes" (1912), "Ein Ausgestossener" (1913), "Heimgekehrt" (1914) and "Der ewige Friede" (1915).
  • Otz Tollen already realised his first movie as a director in 1919.
  • From 1919 he impersonated roles in front of the camera again for silent movies as Die versunkene Flotte" (1926) and "Rache für Eddy" (1929). Afterwards he concentrated to the theater again and it lasted till 1935 before he appeared in his first sound film "Familie Schimek" (1935).
  • From 1935 on he became a popular support actor in well-known productions.
  • The actor and director Otz Tollen began his stage career as an actor at the Stadttheater Konstanz in 1906. It followed engagements in St. Gallen, Basel, Nuremberg and from 1912 in Berlin.
  • With the draft to World War I his artistic career came to an end temporarily.
  • He continued his film career as an actor after World War II.
  • For some movies he also wrote the screenplays.
