- Claus Tinney was born on February 26, 1932 in Nidden, Lithuania. He is an actor and writer, known for Laissez les fesses faire (1973), Nackt und heiß auf Mykonos (1979) and Kreuzberger Liebesnächte (1980).
- Published his first novel in 1959. Scaled down his acting by the mid-90s to concentrate on writing screenplays.
- First on screen in 1956, subsequent stage work at the Theater im Zimmer in Hamburg and at the Hebbel-Theater in Berlin.
- Began his working life as a forest ranger in Germany's Black Forest.
