- Michael Douglas, the producer of "Romancing the Stone" gave Diane a Porsche sports vehicle as a gift for her script. Weeks later, she died in that same car when her drunk boyfriend veered off the street.
- At the time of her death, she was working on a project called "Blond Hurricane" and had finished a draft of a sequel to Les Aventuriers de l'arche perdue (1981).
