Exclusive: French comedy hit Ooh La La (Cocorico)– which was a hit at home and also enjoyed success across Europe – is getting a sequel with the same cast, led by Christian Clavier (Serial (Bad) Weddings).

He reunites with Didier Bourdon, Sylvie Testud (Champagne!, Jour J, Meet The Malawas) and Marianne Denicourt.

Clavier co-starred in the original comedy as the patriarch of the aristocratic Bouvier-Sauvage, who is horrified to learn that his beloved daughter Alice has fallen for the son of a Peugeot dealer, Gérard Martin (Bourdon). He comes to terms with the situation over the course of the film.

Ooh La La 2 will pick up the story on the eve of the wedding between Alice Bouvier-Sauvage and François Martin. Preparations are sent into disarray when DNA tests reveal the two fathers are not as French as they believed.

Exclusive: French detective Inspector Adamsberg has returned for another case, and France TV Distribution is opening his latest murder file at MIPTV.

Yvan Attal plays the detective, known in Fred Vargas’ novels as Commissaire Jean-Baptiste Adamsberg, in the two-part special Beyond the Grave: A New Adamsberg’s Case. France Télévisions’ sales arm is launching the title in Cannes.

Adapted by Emmanuel Carrère and based on Vargas’ novel Sur la Dalle, the series also stars Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, Sylvie Testud, Virginie Ledoyen, Olivier De Benoist, Micha Lescot and Eric Caravaca. The book was the second best-selling new novel in France last year.

France 2 is the broadcaster, Passion Films the producer and Josée Dayan is the director. Delivery is expected in Q3 of this year.

In the series, Inspector Adamsberg investigates a murder in a village in Brittany. The main suspect is a local figure, a descendant of the famous writer Chateaubriand.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has unveiled the trailer for “Simone: Woman of the Century,” a biopic of Simone Veil, an Auschwitz survivor who became health minister of France and championed the 1975 law that legalized abortion in France.

Directed by Olivier Dahan, best-known for his Oscar-winning Edith Piaf biopic “La Vie en Rose,” “Simone” boasts powerful performances by Elsa Zylberstein and Rebecca Marder. The key cast is completed by Elodie Bouchez, Sylvie Testud and Olivier Gourmet.

The film was a box office hit in France, where it was released by Warner Bros and ranked as 2022’s third highest-grossing French-language hit with over 2.5 million tickets sold. Samuel Goldwyn Films is planning to release the film in U.S. theaters, opening in New York and Los Angeles on Aug. 18, followed by a wider rollout.

Pulsar Content and Have a Good One have unveiled an exclusive clip of “Marinette,” Virginie Verrier’s biopic film about the first French female professional soccer player, ahead of its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival.

The film stars Garance Marillier, the breakout star of Julia Ducournau’s “Raw” and Palme d’Or winning “Titane,” and is based on Pichon’s bestselling autobiographical book.

A pioneer of French women’s soccer, Pichon held for almost two decades the record for the number of goals and caps for the French team (men/women combined). She eventually became the first French player to have a career in the U.S..

The film depicts Pichon’s fight to spread awareness on women’s rights in sport, and charts her life, from a childhood ravaged by an alcoholic and violent father to the burden of coming out in an era where LGBTQ+ rights were not recognized.

La Famille Bélier is the original French film adapted to Sian Heder’s Oscar-winning Coda.

Paris-based sales company Other Angle has boarded Victoria Bedos’ coming-of-age identity comedy-drama Dressed To Impress.

Bedos is the creator and co-writer of La Famille Bélier, the original French film adapted to Sian Heder’s Oscar-winning Coda that sold more than 7.45 million tickets during its 2014 run in France.

Dressed To Impress (French title: La Plus Belle Pour Aller Danser) is produced by Hélène Cases of France’s Lionceau Films and Universal will release the film in France on April 26th. Other Angle will kick off sales for the title at EFM.

The 2021 Cannes Film Festival has announced the jurors who will join Spike Lee in determining the winners of this year’s event. The 2019 Independent Spirit Awards took place on a beach in Santa Monica, Calif., with Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk” taking the top prize for best feature along with best director for Jenkins.

Ethan Hawke and Glenn Close took the prizes for best male lead and best female lead, respectively. Bo Burnham took the best first screenplay trophy for “Eighth Grade” and Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty won for best screenplay.

The Spirit Awards are chosen by the Film Independent’s 6200 members after an anonymous committee votes on nominations. The eligibility rules require that movies be produced in the U.S. for less than $20 million.

I've been looking forward to seeing director Luca Guadagnino's (Call Me by Your Name) remake of Suspiria since the first footage was screen at CinemaCon earlier this year. The scene that was shared was absolutely insane and horrifically savage, but that was just a little appetizer compared to the other brutally dark a treacherous places that this movie goes.

The trailers for the film are great and they do a fantastic job at building up the suspense and the world that the story is set in, but those trailers don't even touch on the ruthless and twisted psychological journey that this horror film will take audiences on.

Suspiria is not for the faint of heart, it is a slow burn kind of film that escalates into a vicious blood-fueled nightmarish terror of things that you cannot unsee. This is just one messed up movie that could drive weak souls to the brink of madness.

The full main title score for the upcoming remake of Suspiria has been released and as you'll see, it's got an eerie vibe to it. The theme was created by Thom Yorke of Raidiohead. He created the entire score of the film, which I thought was pretty cool. He's trying something different and I'm a fan of what he's done with this. It has a very haunting vibe. It's also very different from the musical score of the original film which was done by Goblin. That original creepy score is iconic and easily one of my favorite horror movie scores. All of the eyes are giving off a very mischievous vibe because witches are mischievous. I really hope that this movie turns out as dark and disturbing as director Luca Guadagnino says it is. The clip features Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton) outlining plans for a new dance in which she says Susie Bannion (Dakota Johnson) can improvise freely. As you'll see, she gives herself to the dance and gets really into it, but it also seems to attract a demonic creature.

When talking about the film in an interview, director Luca Guadagnino tells THR that he wants the film to be the most disturbing experience you can have:

“I hope that the movie comes across as a relentless experience that’s going to go deep into your skin all the way down into your spine. I want the movie to perform as the most disturbing experience you can have. The movie is about being immersed in a world of turmoil and uncompromising darkness.”

Amazon Studios has released the full trailer for their remake of the classic 1970s psychedelic horror film Suspiria. This trailer gives us our best look yet at the movie yet, which is said to be 152 minutes long. That's a long horror movie, but it looks so good!

Suspiria is set in Berlin, and the story follows a young dancer who joins a dance company. That dance academy happens to be run by witches and as you might imagine weird and horrifying things begin to happen as the terrifying mystery behind the school and its teachers unfolds.

In the film, a darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe’s artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.

Vivid, surreal, nightmarish – three words one would use to describe the original Suspiria movie from ’77.

Fast forward 40 years (and change) and we stand on the verge of Luca Guadagnino’s horror remake, which features Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton in prominent roles. Armie Hammer’s “Call Me by Your Name” follow-up is another Sony Pictures Classics period piece that casts him as an American on a European excursion.

In Paris-set “Final Portrait” — Stanley Tucci’s first film as a writer/director since 2007 (“Blind Date”) — Hammer plays James Lord, a writer who agrees to sit for a 1964 session with Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti (Geoffrey Rush). But hasty, distracted Giacometti demands weeks of Lord’s life, and 18 sessions altogether.

More than two decades later, Lord published a nearly 600-page biography of his late friend and patience-tester. Giacometti died in 1966 at age 64, shortly after traveling to New York for an exhibition of his sculptures, lithographs, and paintings at the Museum of Modern Art.
